I have a Juggernaut that I would like to convert into a rock crawler. I have looked online at different sites that sell these kits but I don't know if they are any good or what else I would have to buy, plus I'd like to see the kit before I buy it. I have asked around at different hobby shops but it doesn't seem like they carry anything. Has anyone built a rockcrawler or know if any kit is better than another?
bigdangerous is building a rockcrawler out of a txt-t1. He's been reading up on how it's done and whatnot. I'll tell him about this thread.
not a lot of options as far as a chassis for a juggy. check RC4wd.com. I'd pick one that gives good articulation and a low center of gravity. After that lock the front and rear diffs, set up 4ws, leave all sway bars off, gear it with the smallest pinions you can put on there with Kyosho Magnetic meyhams, and soften up the suspension and crawl. I have a Clod crawler myself which is different than a juggy which has a center mounted trany and motors vs. the clod with its axle mounted tranny's and motors.
I took a quick look at rc4wd.com and I saw a chassis kit for the Jug. It sounds good, but like I said before with something like this I'd really like to see it before I buy it. Six, what kind of chassis did you use for your Clod?
well I built one from scratch as a general basher/crawler then sold it. I bought an RCGuy.com Geko Chassis and made an all out crawler. the other clod I have is a JPS Clod racer and it can't crawl if its life depended on it... lol.

Its going to be tough to see an aftermarket chassis first hand for a jugg because they stopped making it when the TXT came out. Heck I've not even seen a juggy since they were in production several years ago. Also because of the central mounted tranny and axles it would be quite a build to make a clod based chassis work on Jugg parts.
That JPS Clod may not crawl, but it looks like a true Monster Truck in action....

All I see is a red x Sad
Let's try this:

Jon, I really wouldnt make a crawler out of your jugg. Those things are commanding way too much money now. There are some people doing killer 1/10 scale conversions with the tlt 1 mini monster. With the 2.2 tires and what not....they actually look very scale. Lets face it, i love my txt-1 crawler....but real rock crawlers dont have 6 foot tall tires and shit.

go to mini crawlers section. they also have tech talk about all other trucks too.
