Here is my start
4wd Wheely King
Brand new Imex treads
A piece of 1/2 square tube
Proline c-10 long bed for revo
I want to build up a leaf sprung truck that looks and work much like the real thing. I want this truck to look like beat up old hillbilly truck.
Dude, that's gonna be sweet!! Scale truck right, since you're using 1/2" square for a frame right, i've got ton's of that square tubing too!
Jims not building this one?
Cool, should be a sweet build:popcorn:
very cool... I'll have to keep an eye on this thread...

Jim really needs to build this for us... I forwarded the last build around the office and the guys liked it... I said to my co-worker, looks like Jim is building a crawler, my boss who isn't into RC eye's lit up, he needs a thread
+100^^^^^^ I agree!
He said he wanted an old hillbilly lookin truck! Why not have Jim's 2nd cousin Hillbilly Jim do the build, he'd know how them there Hillbilly trucks are done! Git-r-done!
nice i want to see the finished project
And I catch crap from my wife for an hour of painting in the basement now and then....I need to have your wife talk to mine!!!
made a quick seat today from tire foams.
Pretty electric color, might need some grease stains to tone it down a bit later.
Im tellin ya John Goodman!

:bustingup Goodman
Bent the chassis rails today out of 1/2 square tube stock. Used my benzomatic propane torch and bench vice. I just started bending the tube with the heat and a little force.
I then cut the tube down the middle with my bandsaw spliting it in two.
Ended up with two identical chassis rails.
Got a good start, I made the chassis rails too long as so I can cut them later.
Sweet frame rails. Where did ya get the steel?
Thanks ill have to look into some tomorrow
I take then everything else will be welded in?
Yep, good old MIG
Cool! Looks like a good start, now i've got to start one of those frames too!
Painted the body today and I must say it looks just like I wanted to.
First I sprayed the inside with Tamiya red brown.
I used my heat gun and hobby knife handle to push some dents into the lexan. No real wheeling rig has a clean dent free body.
I then sprayed Pactra sprint white and covered it with outlaw black.
I then painted the body Pactra chazoom Teal. After it was dry I went crazy with a scotch brite pad and dremel wire wheel.
Hope you like.;-)
Clean! Well....err...haha.
Very cool effect.
Thats prett cool.
I really like the tire/wheel combo too.
