sigh......
love my job. work at REI, couldnt have more fun, 8.75 an hour starting isnt half bad either. it has been one of the top 10 on the Forbes 100 Best companies to work for for the past few years. and i'll vouch for that.
rusty savage Wrote:my job blows!!! dont work for sega or any other amusement company!!!! I have learned to fix damn near any thing in the last 10 years and I still make no $$$$$. Ive ended up being the maint guy at my condo building just to make ends meet.
Rusty, with that type of knowledge MOVE TO VEGAS!!!!! I'm not kidding you! Slot techs in vegas are making $30 an hour(stations casino tech! don't know about the smaller or larger casinoes) over 8 hours a day is time and a half and over 12 is double!

When I did an install at Fiesta Henderson, one of the slot techs stayed with us while we worked (needed him to open up games and other b.s.) He was loving it cause it was during the expansion and anything over 8 for him ended up being double time because of all the work on the new part of the casino! For you learning how to work on a slot machine would take little to NO effort! And it's always sunny there! Cost of living is a lot higher though! My house here cost $150,000, a smaller single level ranch type house in NORTH LAS VEGAS(the ghetto) cost $325,000!!

Oh and if you work for ANY casino you get 3 free meals a day! They have whats known as a T.D.R. Team Dining Room. Professinal chefs cook damn good meals 24/7! I'm not talking hamburgers and hotdogs either! Steaks, ribs, lobster good food!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have always loved my job, actualy it's more of a carrer. I work for a tire co.
First i started in the shop working on semi trucks, etc, changing tires. Then I moved into a service truck changing tires on the side of the road, company yards, and even working on earthmovers. Talk about a dangerous job this is it! Nothing like going to work everyday knowing one of these truck tires could explode and kill you. Not to menchen the giant earthmovers that could explode. Lucky for me I only had 3 tires actualy blow up, not counting the hundreds that might of. My infamus buddy Bruce went with me on a call. He was shocked to see me changing a tire on I294 with the traffice flying by.

Now after 14 years I have ben promoted to asst. manager in the office. Just recently I was passed up for the managers position but I will have that in a year or two. The current guy is only here to train me and then he is moving on.

Sorry! Lol. If you do look at local casinos look at Blue Chips in Michigan City, Indiana. I know a few people there and it seems like it would be a great place to work! That and I could teach you everything about their slot system and you would be a god!!!!!!!!!!

I hate Jeff's job... his boss is a little penis, I'd like to choke him, but not in a loving way... the people he works with for the most part are cool, but there are some that have their heads entirely up the management's ass...

how's that Jeff? Big Grin
umm...yea bout covers it in a VERY polite way lol

No prob, I still got all of the specialty software and manuals.
i love my job delivering chinese food. I get to drive my car around all day and make 15-20 an hour, and hang out with my friends and chill all day.
I love my job. I am working at Champaign Cycle in Urbana (Just outside of the U of I campus). Pretty good pay, as many or as few hours as I want, a great discount, and great employees. There is nothing I don't like about the place.

I just saw this!! Which one?? I was working at the Oakbrook Terrace one for a while before leaving for school. I may end up back there sometime as well or at the Niles location where one of my managers transfered to. Definitely a GREAT company to work for. Pretty flexible, great people, cool store, and good discounts. Can't ask for much more. I worked in action sports/bike shop. Big Grin
