lol, I just seen that on another forum.
Huh? I don't see anything
it makes me wonder why someone would burn that truck. That is a nice looking maxx, is there any site that show more of it?
On a similar note John78... I wonder why someone would let one sit on a shelf and rot too ????? :moon: :p:
Roc, if I wanted your opinion I would have rattled your cage
Uhhh..... I didnt state an opinion... I asked a question. :moon:
I thought I saw the whole story on another site....

The guy had this fully tricked out Maxx, but then he decided he wanted a full race Revo, so he got this flamethrower truck buddy of his to torch his Maxx and filed an insurance scam claim. Well, the guy collects on his policy and then finds out that someone nearby had filmed the whole thing. Next thing you know 20/20 is on the story and they uncovered a whole ring of RC truck chop shops and how guys are washing titles on LST's and 777's. Well, it got so deep they had to back off because some guy in Chicago with connections to a local "business family" somehow called in a favor. Something to do with a video he had of somebody who knows a guy, you know how it goes.

Anyway, the end result was the truck burning video got posted on some RC site with the bogus story about two guys just wanting to burn a truck.

If you ask me, it was really a Chevy guy taking it out on some poor Ford guy's truck.....but that's just me. Smile
sorry roc, i didn't see the question mark :moon:

LOL!!! Dave you have toooo much time!!!
ok then, dave's post brings up a question: do people have insurance polices on their r/c cars and trucks?
What are you talking about it has question marks  :moon: Smile
Maybe i should get a couple if thats possible :bustingup

In a way. I belive if it gets stolen on your property, home owners insurance will cover it, and if it is stolen from your car, your car insurance will cover it.
Rocco,

It's not that I have too much time, it's just that I don't use my time wisely.

Dave
I'm surprised that as many R/C guys as we have here, that the above "story" was even considered a possibility. First off, the "custom" truck is in no way a Maxx of any sort (T, S, Sport, whatever). There is nospace for an engine or transmission, there is no center driveline, even the front and rear diff/driveline are wrong. Secondly, If that was a Maxx, there would be SOME aluminum on it, somewhere. Look at the pile of ash at the end of the video. there is no remains of any sort of metal. The "burning truck" is nothing more than a High quality, Highly realistic model.

Also, if the video was in fact "accidently" caught on film by a neighbor, why would they introduce themselves, describe their trucks, and get various angles?

C'mon guys. I know we are a little smarter than that... Smile
I guess it was hard to pick up on my "tongue in cheek" tone of the dialogue when reading the "true story". Rocco seemed to catch on.... I thought the Ford vs. Chevy tie-in would be the real tip-off.
It's all good. It seemed like some thought it was possible...
I guess at first view you are lead to think the burned truck is an RC, but they never do really say that. It is, for sure, a very nice model, with alot of work put into it. It kind of reminded me of putting M80's into my old kit models when I didn't want them any longer. I just didn't have a video camera and the Internet back in the day.
i was joking
the article is in this months r.c monster truck mag. its a cool truck!
I Want One!!!!
