I jsut got a T-Maxx Pro .15. I just finished break in, and for the life of me, I can't get it to tune right! I started break in at 3 turns on HSN and 3 turns on the LSN (richer than the stock settings), and tried to tune from there. Yesterday during the second to last break in tank, it ran great! But now it won't run, even at the settings I had it at yesterday. I had it tuned for a short time today, but then it started running crappy. Now it's to the point where it idles perfectly, but when I take off it runs for a bit, then dies. Sometimes it will run good until I get into higher RPMs, then it dies. At one time I had the HSN out 5 turns, and the LSN out about 4 1/2, and it still had symptoms of being lean. Can you help me!?

Now, I don't want any "trash that crappy engine and buy this $400 one instead" replies. I just want to run the truck with the TRX .15 for now. I took it apart and noticed that there are 3 shims in between the head and case. I'm running Red Max 20% fuel through it. It was for the most part broken in on 10%, until I recieved it. Coudl this have anything to do with it? Another idea I have is that the glow plug is bad. Any help works! Thanks! Kolby

Im confused is this a new engine or used? From what it sounds like this motor was a rebuild? Anyways id start with taking two of the three shims out. Also make sure when you put it back together your cooling head is on straight and tight. Also check your fuel tank for cracks or air leaks.
It might be your fue line check for holes
Check fuel line, I would try running 30%, and a MC-9 glow plug.
Hoobajoob, yes, I bought the truck used, but he rebuilt it and started the break in before I got it from him. I will check my fuel line, and take out 2 shims right now and go test it. Thanks for the help!
Well, today I was going to run the truck, but didn't get a chance to due to a dead EZ start battery then baseball practice. I now need a glow plug and a pull starter, because i'm NOT dealing with EZ start anymore. I will report back when I get 'er running again.Smile
Good choice on ditching the EZ start.
I like them. Me and p-starts don't get along for some reason lol

unless you got a brand new 3.3 and break 2 pull starts on the first pull
that sucked lol. blisters from tryin to crank the engine over. man that thing was tight
never had a prb. with pull starts, could also be your fuel, me and redmax never got along too well, also try a new plug and lean out the bottom a little "richer isnt always better"...running a engine too rich is just as bad as running one too lean
IMO do what rccar411 said to do. unless you really want that pro 15

did you heat the motor up over 200F and make sure fuel was primed (primed= fuel just up to tip of HSN nipple)
I gave you the explanation of primed because some people flood the motor with gas and that's overly primed.
