About an inch from the carb.
Your temps sound fine. They are going to bounce around a bit until it is really broken in, but 260 is definitely not too high. The Picco wouldn't run well for me unless it was at 260-280. It had plenty of smoke and endlesss power. I pulled it apart and the internals were imaculate. There is a breakin method on trugy racers where the guy uses NO temp gun at all. He has tought several people the method and they have all goten some ridiculous life out of their motors. I am a little skepticle to try it, but I may. He tunes ONLY by smoke and sound.

wow yea that would freak me out lol. I guess this shows the quality between this engine and a os engine. my os has maintained tune and temps since day one and has never missed a beat. I am actually hoping my temp gun IS reading a little high. I've heard the duratrax one's do sometimes. Guess I should take it to work and see lol.
Dan that is how all the good tuners tune there motors. Temp means nothing really there are too many other variables. The "pro tuners" know what to look for and listen for whereas guys like us use temp as more of a benchmark. Aaron Pucci will run his shit at 300 if he sees it as running at its best. at the kyosho race a couple years back Drake came in for a temp and his pit man said 305 he said leave it and went back out to practice.

I actually never use the temp gun anymore on the os motor. I can tell by the sound and smoke how it's doin'. I just wanted to break in this new motor good because I can't afford the v-spec .30 yet for it
I wouldnt buy that os 30 u can get much better .28's for that money

really? I thought that was the big dog
a bigger cc doesnt always mean better performance hell i bet the vspec .21 is ALOT faster than the 30 VG

+1 again. Damnit Mike stop saying intelligent things.
wow thats weird. is there a reason for that? Is it aimed towards something diffrent? I really like my os engine and if I had the chance I'd do it again. I guess you guys know better than me though. pshh when I first came here I thought a t-maxx was the chit lol.(still have it mike btw)lol
It is a big torque monster gas guzzler. Bash it up. If you want to stay OS go V-Spec or the new .28 vspec that someone said is coming out??
well when that time comes I'll make sure I get info from you guys who know better. I hear alot of good things on thos werks engines and I guess they're having a hellofa deal on them now but I just got the lsp so the ol' wallet is caughing lol
Haha.... I should have my new Werks broken in and racing this weekend. I'll let you know how it works out.
sweet
the 30 isnt really a gas guzzler, its just not as "performance oriented" as alot of the other racce mills out there.

ok yea I want performance. not like I know how to use it, but by then maybe I will lol
ya then you are much better off with going with a race mill, .21 vspec or novarossi, RB C6 Werks B7 or .28B7 etc
the .21 spec power the lsp outside ok?
should be fine
cool, guess I got it narrowed down already lol Now I just gotta learn to drive and blow this one up lolConfusedmash:
how much for that hb26 i cant let you hurt it
lol im pretty sure rocco ran a p5 in his hotbodies truggy so the vspec should work
