i have a 3.3 and its been really anal lately as far as tuning. i want to completely start over but would like to know a good referance point of needle turns from zero for both high speed and low speed needle. i think the high speed should be at like 4 turns out or so, low i have no clue.
If the motor is not new, I'd start at about 3-3 1/2 turns out on the high speed, flush on the low speed. Pinch test on the low should be about 2 seconds after a high speed pass.
no its not new it has a gallon anda half at most.
richen both needles up a turn then go from there
get a gallon of gas and a mach... That will take care of all your problems....
BURN!!!!!

Maybe if you define "being anal" on what it's doing or not doing when you tune it. Give more details, please.
I think he means that it is a muther to start. and it likes to die right away after you start it. have to keep on the throttle to warm it up. still has nasty comp so I don't think it's worn out. it's tune is erratic also one tank the temp is great run another and the temps are up. richen it up and the temp goes down run it and the temps go too far down and have to lean etc etc etc
What fuel are you running? Need to add a shim under the head? Bad plug?
byrons 20 the whole time. also put a new plug in it.
rear engine bearing? I had to stay way on throttle when that went out during starts and to warm it up...eventually it wore out the piston/sleeve from doing that.
ill have to check that out.
grab the flywheel and try to wiggle it up and down, it shouldnt move very much at all if it does then its most likely the rear bearing
Maybe not the cause.... but check the seal on the tank for an airleak. I had one on my Revo and it would give it a weird idle and cause it to run hot one tank and cold the next. Very inconsistant tune.
