A 426" HEMI!
or a 427 SOHC "CAMMER" singing at 7,000+ RPM
Both are amazing engines. Plus big engines just plain sound better too!
(neither is as high tech as a dual vanos BMW motor but both are just brutal.....I like brutal!)
Pontiac 455 baby! Poncho Power!!!!!

My Dad's '71 Buick Rivierra with a 455. Hopefully mine when I graduate.
It is pretty much stock right now. Motor needs a good tune up, new carb, needs a nice exhaust, and I would like to put a cam in it. It definitely needs a rear end though. 455 with no Posi does not mix.
455 with posi in the snow does not mix lmao
455 doesn't go with snow period. 455 with posi when it is dry you can at least get somewhere. 455 without posi and you need to FEATHER that throttle to get moving. Its a heavy car. If you are on any bit of an incline you can just about count on lighting up A tire. Haha
I had a 71 olds delta 88 land barge with a 455 rocket. 1 tire fire for a freakin mile and a half lol. I miss driving that car. I swear it was 47 feet long but man it was funny to see peoples faces when you popped the hood or lit that r/r tire up for 10 city blocks lol
if your looking for a nice tone... Look for a 80's or early 90's mustang with a 347 stroker with motorsports "x" cam and some flows on off road h pipe. oh yea instant wood
i actually like the sound of the new charger and the new mustang cobra

cobras do have a nice melody
I prefer a forced induction, high RPM v8 over a smaller engine. Smoother powerband. You can achieve a flat torque curve, and insane power without sacrificing economy and drivability.
LS7 - 505hp, 30mpg. Cam, headers, exhaust = 650rwhp with out losing much economy at all. And its N/A. Add forced induction and you get a monster.

YES!
My '92 has a "healthy" custom ground billet roller cam designed for 14-22 psi boost. It has a big-block sound yet it's a small block! Of course the custom headers, X-Pipe, and Race Magnums w/turn downs don't hurt either!

Please explain this one........"LS7 - 505hp, 30mpg. Cam, headers, exhaust = 650rwhp with out losing much economy at all. And its N/A."
Since when do you gain nearly 150hp from exhaust, cam, and headers? From my years of experience, I say NFW. Alll due respect, but come on.
From a pure Exotic Sound standpoint, F1 cars own this discussion. Anything that outrevs a motorcycle engine is TIGHT.
This Mazda rotary has been banned from racing because it was an unfair advantage over conn rod/piston motors.

Another favorite motor of mine would have to be the 6 cylinder inline that Honda used on the CBX bike in the 70's. A buddy of mine ran one with a 6:1 header system that made that thing sound like a freakin' ariplane going by at 3 feet off the ground. Late at night you could hear him from miles away, and tell where he was in town from the sound of that pipe. Made it real EZ for the cops to tell when he was Misbehavin' !!!
