ive yet to see any teenager that was given a car not get in a wreck and pretty much total the car. Come to think of it, ive yet to see any teenager not get into an accident. Ive been lucky and havent so far. Then again I wasnt given a shiney new car either. I worked for what I got and earned it. I pay my own insurance. I pay my own bills. I dont get in accidents. I have no problems on the road. No tickets, nothing. I say earn your damn money and get your own car and pay for your own shit. At least this way it will make you appreciate what you got a little more. Or at the least think before you do something stupid

I was accident free until 23, then some dumbass pulled in front of me on a rainy night, without having the line of sight past another vehicle, and bam, 9k in damage to my car. Heck I didn't even buy a car until I was 22. I always drove parents' cars, just when they didn't need them and I had to go someplace. I guess "the system" is partially at fault here, because I know for a fact that a TON of drivers ed programs are complete crap. Thankfully I went to a decent school.

Apparently his insurer depreciated it to $12k and wrote the car off, so now he get's a '99 Ranger that was owned by the company his Dad owns (the company is buying new trucks, so it's not like this one is being taken from employees for him to use.) Had to laugh at my Dad the other day in relation to the story, he suggested buying the kid a new pair of shoes instead......

My first ride was a 76 Chrysler Cordoba, then a 77 Cougar before getting a 86 S10 Blazer that had some mileage on it. Parents didnt help one bit. No insurance help, nothing. The 2 first cars had major rust damage to the quarter panels, they acutally flapped while driving. But hey, I learned how to drive them boats pretty good.
So, to hear about some kid handed a brand new car just annoys the fuck outta me.
Thanks all for judging me without my side of the story. Yes, I fucked up, yes it was my fault, etc etc etc. I feel terrible about the whole situation and no, I am not getting a brand new car to replace it. I'm getting a 1999 ford ranger pick up truck, and I'm only driving it until august when I go off to college.

They actually gave us $13,000 so if you ask me thats a damn good deal. I drove the car for 19250 miles until I fucked up bad, and no, I am not getting a brand new car. That 13k is going towards the trucks my dad is buying for the company, I am paying all insurance and expenses that I will incur including the lawyer fees and what not for fighting the ticket(well at least hoping for traffic schol).

I work four days a week delivering pizza(formerly chinese). I am paying for all the expenses incurred in this crash out of my pocket, not that its any of your business.
