I'm sorry. That came out wrong.

Just 95% of the Revos.
practice was good today except for the ice rink after the backstraight Smile, and the fact that the truggy gods struck down stahoo's STR. :O, thats a bummer dude, good reason to get a mugen. Smile
What happened to the STR??
What a sad way to end the day.
well, i was outside for a second....go figure, and when i come back in everyone is saying that someones truck was on fire, i was like wtf...... when i seen kevin his chit was all melted, i guess he had a runaway and when the truck hit the wall it burst into phuckin flames and wouldnt go out. Sad when it stopped, i think from getting thrown in the snow mabey, the servo horns and gas tank protector and a few other things were all charred but the servos still worked. he's not really sure why he had a run away.

Okay, what did you MUGEN guys do to my ST-R????? j/k

Expensive night for me I must say. I'm only glad I was able to laugh about it. It's only an r/c vehicle and it can be rebuilt/replaced, besides that it was fairly exciting. Wish I had a video of it.

I took a quick look at it last night and for the life of me I can't figure out what made it stick wide open. I lost control of the throttle and steering going down the straight away no less. I assuming it was most likely receiver related (spektrum failure??) but I'm not sure. I'm even more confused at what caused the nitro fuel (which needs compression to ingnite) to start on fire??? It looks like there's about a 30-40% loss overall. The body, gas tank, rear uni, front shock tower and hinge pins as well as some of the front plastic got the worst of it. The engine and pipe seem to be okay and that's a relief. I'll send in the servos and receiver and have them repaired/replaced since they seem like they weren't scorched (too bad if at all).

Needless to say I'm buying a Mugen and will assess the damage on the ST-R and will decide whether to rebuild or cut my losses. I have a lot of spares so that might help me get it back to a roller.

Kevin (stahoo)
dude fuel doesnt need compression at all to ignite, pour some out and throw a match on it itll go up like crazy. Im guessing when you hit the wall you either cracked the tank or somehow the lid opened and you go a spark possibly from the chassis hitting the concrete and that was just hot enough to light er up

Is it possible that if it was an electrical failure (reciver, reciever pack, whatever) that it was hot enough and ignited or shorted and sparked?? All possibilities. a lot would have had to happen and it sounds like it did.
I dunno I am not sure if that would work lol
ya, the tank was deffinitly cracked. LOL
