Happy happy
Well it was a good one, had a surprise party here at my house, had no clue. lol.
Got a set of ski's from my parents and then money/giftcards from everyone else. Going to get my liscense tomorrow sometime.
damn those are nice man....happy happy belated
how much does a good set of ski's cost
Define good. You can get a decent set of skis, boots and bindings for about $400-$500. What many people in the industry consider "good" instantly puts you into the $1000+ range. Skis being about $400+ of that, bindings being $200+, and boots being $300+.
Not sure. K2 makes a nice intermediate ski. I can't tell what the bindings or boots are. I can say that it is a pretty nice setup for your first set. If I were him I would be happy with it and not worry about how much it cost. If I were you I wouldn't worry about the cost of his birthday present either. ;-)
Yeah, they cost a pretty penny.
Dan I got a set of Nordica boots, I can't remember who makes the bindings (skis are on the truck right now, heading out to Alpine tomorrow) and Scott poles.
Thanks Kevin and Bubba!
Nice man. That is a rock solid setup for sure. I have always been a skier. Not sure what I was thinking when I bought my snowboard. Well, I sold that so if I am working at REI around next fall I plan on picking up a pair of twin tipped skis. The Salomon 1080's are my dream setup. Skis, boots, bindings, and poles with those comes out to around $1200 regular price though. I won't spend that much.... with an employee discount they may almost be affordable though....
