I am constantly beaking the rod ends that attach the shocks. Does any one know of a source for aluminum ends that fit the standard 3mm shafts??
On what rc are you breaking them? Which shocks?
My bad...Its on a T-Maxx with Integy shocks...I've broken the ends that came with them and also the Traxxas replacement ends which seemed a little beefier.
Go with a quality 1/8 scale shock and your problems will pretty much go away. Plus you only have to run (4) 1/8 scale shocks as opposed to the (8)1/10 scale shocks.

Here is a QUOTE from someone if your looking for a decent 1/8 scale shock setup.

If you're running stock towers & arms(or stock dimentions), the GS Storm "medium" Pro Shocks are a direct replacement for a stock T-maxx length shock. GS makes some of the best bladders and the bleeder hole in the cap is the BOMB! Mine never leaked. (end quote)

Sounds like you just need (4) GS medium shocks and find a Trinity spring that works. I'd start off around 40-50wt oil.
I picked up some 1/8th scale Ofna 9.5 pro shocks to try out...the fronts are the same length as the T-Maxx the rears are about 3/8" longer than stock.
I run Ofna 9.5 shocks on my LRM (literace maxx for those that don't know that term yet)

GSC, did you see how my shocks were mounted when I met you at Berwyn? they are mounted on the middle of the shock tower.
Yeah , I saw that...seemed to work pretty good. They don't bind at all??
no binding at all and very progressive suspension rate. Strong too!
If you dont want to get rid of your integys (witch if i were you i would cuz i had them and them and i thought the shafts were very weak)go to leisure hour and get the racers edge 3mm alum shock ends... The downside, there 13 bucks a pair :o :o !!! I have them on my lsp and i like them.

In the long run gs shocks would most likey be much cheaper than just the ends
Are they the long or short ones F/R??
I used long front and short rear, believe it or not. I know it doesn't sound like it makes sense but I mounted them so I had more travel in the front than the rear.
Does it still bottom out off big jumps??
Really big jumps, yes..... 4-5ft up, no
SWEET!! I'm not sure if I want to mount them in the center like that though...I've got SM towers...think it might work?
yeah with SM towers you don't need to mount them in the center. I only did it because the shocks didn't fit right (wouldn't allow the truck to bottom out). If I had SM towers I would just use the top holes in that.
