OMG that is insane. And it produces 5 HP @ 23,000 RPM. Wow, has any one tryed that engine.
dont put that into your buggy
LOL 0-30 faster then ur eyes can keep up with. No i would put it in a MT if i ever got it. But that thing looks insane.
I would never buy that motor....
that motor blows! i delt with a couple of those from al's plenty of torque but its slow lol doesnt have high enough rpm
Think of how many houses and garbage cans you can jump with that thing!
Yea i though of the RPM as a problem. Dam! Any other engines out there around that power that someone could point out.
that thing doesnt have 5 HP, jusst cause they say that dont mean shit.
You don't need anything near that powerful. (Which it isn't.) LEARN TO DRIVE YOUR BUGGY WITH WHAT YOU HAVE!! Stop looking for something more powerful. You are like I was with my bikes.... always wanting more and better even when I didn't need it. Now I buy what I need when something NEEDS upgrading or something breaks. You will save yourself a lot of money, learn a lot more, and don't come across like a jackass to everyone.
It says its for an MT. Thats why it has the low RPM's. Perfect for an MT with a 2 speed or more tranny.
nah dont get it! its not the FOM so it cant be good!

Just curious why did they put that motor in a $700 truck if its no good?
It's cen.
It is terrible for a buggy. Low RPM's. You would have to gear up a LOT to use the torque. I imagine it is huge and heavy.... all seem like good reasons to go with a proven more powerfull .21. And IMO..... that $700 truck is nothing special. I am not an HPI fan (I loved my Revo) and I would take a savage ANY DAY over the Cen.
there is nothing wrong with the cen truck dan, its alot more durable than the revos are

If I still had my revo I would bet against that....
Did you know that the CEN Nemesis won second place in monster truck class at the nats? It was also the only truck in the whole race that did not break one part.
The only way you will see 5hp in a 1/8th buggy is to go brushless. Mainly because you can simply run a high voltage system. However it would be a stupid idea because you wouldn't be able to control it, it would be too much power and only good for speed runs.
wow this thread is majorly back form the dead
Indeed it is. Didn't even check the dates of the posts above the one I replied to.
that motor comes in an 18 pound Nemesis or Genesis truck. the truck is fat, so it needs it.

wow.......
.....Lol.......

I've seen a Genesis on the track, it was EVERYWHERE. it might have been the driver but the truck was HUGE it was HEAVY. there is really not any use for it other than bashing maybe. the thing has 10 shocks.

And I might kick myself for saying, A SAVAGE is better than a Nemesis or a Genesis. who wants to fill and tune 10 shocks and springs thats dumb. and not to mention fuel costs and economy of a 7.7 CC motor. thats double the size of a GOOD Truggy motor. (a .21 anyway) its not even feasable. its just a big truck, that wastes alot of space. I was going to get one until I saw in [person how massive it was. Then I bought a revo instead and saved 200 bucks.
I will say it was the original truck to offer a diff in the tranny. (sorta comendable)
But about that motor....
Thats the goofiest over rated power output EVER slapped on an r/c box!
Hehe.
