Anyone ever been there before? We usually get up there once a year at least.

yeah i used to live a few blocks from there.

Cool, I can't wait. We are leaving a week from tomorrow.

yeah it would be nice if they would get a nice snow. I know they got a nice snowfall last week but it rained like a day or so after. I try to go up there as much as possible. i still have alot of friends up there that i stay with and go see.

When I go to get certified this year for instructing, that is where it is going to be at. I usually go to local places, but heard granite peak is nice.

Nothing better than living in the north woods. I go to summer camp up by eagle river.

One of the best places in the Midwest I have ever been. The only place that was better was Crystal Mountain up in Michigan, I'm not sure if it is in the UP or close to it, I haven't been there in a long time, but it was awesome.

Isn't Rib the tallest vertical in the Midwest except for a couple of UP spots?

600 feet or so?

I'm not sure if it is the tallest but on their website it says around 700.

we used to go to Minoqua Wisconsin about an hour or so past Wassau every year up until i started HS such a nice place, getting very touristy tho not much north woods left lol

I agree, minocqua is very close to where I go to camp. Every year its becoming more of a tourist place, although the place i go to camp at is amazing. It's in the middle of the woods!

Minoqua has always been very touristy.Even back when i was younger it was always a popular place even 15 years ago.Wausau is a nice town. if i was a bit older and settled down i think i would have stayed. I still like it there, its really cheap to live especially for first time homowners. If you look in the right spot you can get a nice 1500sq ft house for just over 100k. try that around here and its either in the hood or ready to fall over on its own.The only thing bad is when you start to get farther north the prices go up. I was looking for land around my aunt and uncles place in mercer and just the land itself is nutz. then again i was looking for lakefront.

ahhh yes i have been there great place. U ever been up near preq isle about another hour or so north near michigan? we have some property up there, definetely out in the sticks but its a great area.

Can't say I have. But I'll be a counserlor at that camp this year, after being a camper for 6 years. I'm so excited.

Might be up there this weekend. Friends wifes b-day so they are going out with a bunch of her friends from work AKA the cackling hens. That and he might be picking up a jeep for cheap in Antigo so he might need help. Dont know if ill bring the board. He said it has been pretty icy and hasnt seen them doing and power tilling, just grooming which doesnt do much after its been packed back down an hour later.But who knows maybe they will for the weekend.

I HOPE it snows, I can't wait to get up there, we are leaving home about 430 Saturday morning.

Well I'm here, seems to be plenty of snow on the runs, pretty dang cold though.

I was supposed to go to alpine valley today and teach, like every saturday, but I woke up with a 101. Been in bed all day. I am going to work tonight, delivering, hopefully I'm well enough to do so.

Well I just got back, gonna go eat some dinner then go do a night ski. Pretty good so far, some of the runs are pretty icy, but the others are great. We should be getting some snow overnight so we should have some great skiing. I'll get some pics tomorrow when my mom goes over with the camera, I don't want to take it with and risk breaking/losing it.
