I have Nextel now and been thinking of getting something else. I have had Sprint before and didnt like them (Now they own Nextel, BS) and have had Cingular and they were OK. Im Leaning towards US Cellular. Need feed back on your service and who you guys use. Thanks.Confusedalute:
.....T mobile?
US Cell for the last 5 years. Pretty good in IL. But traveling out of IL you get roaming charges. (depends on how out of state)
Yeah, I got Sprint back in the day when you bought the phone and didn't sign any long term contracts. I stay with them because the package is so cheap and the service is nation wide.

I have a US Cellular phone for work, but, ironically my US Cellular phone wont work in US Cellular Field!
I dumped nextel and my $85 doller bill for verizon and their $50 bill. Verizon coverage is much better too. Less dead spots on the roads and places I go to most often.
I've had US Celluar for about as long as Rich, and so far I'm happy with them. Customer service is very good and the call reception is also very good. I switched to a nationwide plan earlier this year because we ended up driving to Philadelphia and Niagara falls for a week. I also went to Phoenix to visit a buddy and the coverage/service was excellent.
I think I just got lucky with sprint! Never had a single problem going on 2 1/2 years now coverage everywhere I travel to. I also have t-mobile for work and they blow balls compared to sprint. In the past I had us cell and thought the service sucked, I couldn't even make a call from inside my house. IMHO sprint or cingular are the best 2.
Im looking on http://www.letstalk.com to see what they have to offer. I like my Nextel service, but the sprint buyout was bad on nextels part. Im also tired of paying $85 a month for something i hardly use. It looks like T-Mobile and Verizon are the best in the ratings dept.
If you hardly ever use the phone, I would consider one of those pay as you go phones. Buy the phone at Wal*Mart and just buy the minutes for it.
My plan is $60 a month but all the BS charges it comes out to $85. damn cell phones, cant live with them cant live without them, unless your Mikey czech.
I had us cell and it was junk for me. I couldn't wait to get rid of it. People quit calling me cause i never got the calls. Sometimes it took 2-3 days to get a voice mail. I live south of joliet and I had no service MOST of the time. Also the day I got it I walked out of the store I got them from and my phone said roaming lol.
I have had Cingular for about 6 years... They have the largest network out there plus they are the only provider that allows rollover minutes, can't beat that...
Joe, have you looked into a family plan with the GF? You can save tons of money going that route.

My brother and his fiance (sp?) were paying $80 each for their nextels, and how pay like $65 (with t-mobile) for a family plan.
yea get the F&Flex for family... 70 bux for 2 lines.
I have verizon , works all over the country , unless ur in BFE , but them places have people with no teeth and no running water , my phone is a little over $100 a month but thats for 2 lines, unlimited txt , and i have web access on mine ,
idk but me and my wife pay 75 a month for 2 nextels with unlimited beeps. we only get 400 mins but we don't ever call anyone anyways from the cell
i have nextel and its preatty cheap because me and my dad have the fam plan its close to 85 a month for 2 lines unlimited nextel- nextel or nextel- sprint phones and unlimited direct connect

Kinda like women.Wink

I have family plan with verizon with 5 phones. I am not sure on how much the bill is, but rarely ever drop calls and works everywhere except in some buildings. (school)
What nextel plans did you guys have? Mine is only 50 with unlimited DC and 300 anytime, free nights and weekends.
we have a shared/family deal
ive had sprint, nextel, cingular, and right now i have a verizon. its been better than the nextel as far as dropped calls go. from what i have been told is tha t mobile uses the same service towers as nextel. i am happy wityh verizon and teh wife and i get like 1300 minutes and free phone to phone for like 85 a month and that is for 2 lines
i like my sprint service
My wife and I have Nextel, because all our close friends and family do to.
Ive had mine for 5 years now and Ive never had a dropped call, ever...
We have a shared plan with unlimited DC and 300 nation wide min that we never use up due to the DC.
We pay around $110 for both phones.

I think most of peoples problems with bad service and dropped calls is due to the phones themselves...just like anything, you get what you pay for.
Cheap chitty phones will give you crappy service.

Many times, Ive seen two different phones with the same service, sitting side by side, and one would have a bad signal, and the other would have a great signal.Rolleyes

The store I work at, is also a Cingular store....their service is good too, my wife's work phone is a Cingular....but her last phone was a piece of Sh!t and dropped calls, now her new one works great, go figure...
t-mobile's service blows, and I used to be a nextel customer (which also blows IMO)
Was thinking about the LG Chocolate MP3 phone, anyone have that one?
