While Matt and I were at Leisure today (conducting a trade) we were checking out the slot cars and I promised to post this link:

By far, one of the most informative sites for slot cars. Anybody else into this hobby? Lots of fun, not a lot of space. I made the "tuckaway 25 track" for my basement. Works great. Fast and fun 4 lane racing.
I had tons of Tyco H.O. cars when I was very young. I don't even know where it might be these days.
Thats pretty cool. I used to have them when I was little. I can't belive the prices on some of those things. A little bit cheaper than RC to get into, but I bet it is cheaper in the long run too. Looks fun.
I got a couple track sets. I actually had the lambo challange track out a few weeks ago. I also Have a really old one that my dad had when he was a kid.
i have a 1/32 digital set by carerra. its cool. you controle when you change lanes. and you can run 4 cars on 2 lanes.
I remember back in the day we had one that went up the walls and upside down and everything. there used to be a place around here at the mall that had an awesome track, and the cars were $50 a piece and the controller was like $15 and you could get in a racing league. but then that mall shut down, and I haven't seen anything like that since. the upside and wall climbing one was a tyco one, I think I'm going to get my 3 1/2 year old a slot car track to start off with before he goes into rc's. he was beating my brother in law at slot cars, lol
Wow that site is cool, now I want a slot car track!! Thanks Mike!!Confusedmash: j/k

Your welcome Matt!
I really dig those things. My boy was kicking but with the slot cars - big and small - at the Hobby Expo. Very funny and cool. My layout, the tuckawa 25, was easy to build, cost under 200 including the 4 lane set, and gets lots of use. Then I can fold up the legs and put it away till next time. Now that we have a finished basement, it stays up all the time. I like the AFX cars, but the tires stink, so I replaced them with silicone tires. My favorites are the Life Like old syle M chassis(original fast trackers, not the "maxx traxx"), and the old Tyco 440x2. Ironically, my two fastest cars are F1 440x2 that are from the 1980s. They truly dont make 'em like they used to. I found a larger 1/32 scale set at the Expo that is built to fit on a 4x8. Its on my X-mas list.
