Crap thats a big model rocket. I used to do the small stuff and thought it was cool. It was relatively harmless stuff, you could crush the stuff in your hands easy.

But that thing, if that had a misfire that could be a problem!
sheeeeeeet!!

I want video of it...
There are more pics here, stole it from Al's website.

Actually they are. You need a low yield explosive license for these types of rockets. You must contact FAA before you launch anything.

man, this rocket stuff gets very interesting.. my brother was into it, we had to drive two hours to clear the freakin' airspace of the airports for him to launch the thing!! absolutely insane... some of the guys up there were putting bowling balls on the noses of the rockets and parachuting them down onto a target Big Grin

as for me - I got the hell out of rockets when every one of them that I put up either went on a very tall roof or into a very tall tree Big Grin

to get into some of the bigger engines you do have to get a license to buy the parts... but these are the rocket engines that put them into stratosphere!!
I used to play wit hthe litle rockets, but that was about it. Every now and then they have the competitions on TV. Some crazy stuff they do. Multiple burn stages, splitting apart rocket, bowling balls, tallest rocket..... tons of crazy stuff.
