I was alittle shocked to find out on thursday that you guys dont run a point series for indoor. I can understand if you dont for outdoor. Not everyone likes to run outside when its 90+ lol.

I forget who I was talking to. But he said although they never tried with offroad. They did try with onroad and near the end of the series, guys were not showing because they decided to skip because they could toss out 2 weeks.

Has anyone given any series thought to a points series for indoor offroad? Just make it longer, like a 12 or more week series. With the amount of people that offroad gets. I get the feeling that not having enough people would not be a problem. Unless your running MT Sad
IMO. Just racing is fun. But if there is nothing at the end like a bonus. It starts to feel like practice to me. Just with a racing set up.
club racing is just that, club racing...You can't have prizes like trophys, or cash at every single weekly race.

To be honest, there are only a few guys including yourself that like indoor better than outdoor. The toxins from running indoor is bad and can get to you, to say the least. Burning eyes, lungs hurt, etc.... What is the long term effects on breathing in nitro for a few hours once a week? Cancer at 40?

The only reason there is more of a turnout for indoor winter racing than during the summer outdoors is because all the other outdoor tracks are closed for the winter and people are forced to go indoors during that period. People come from far and wide to race at Leisure indoors because it's the only place to go.

A point series is a good idea IF the local CLUB racers are diehards and come out week after week. The current trend in RC Car Racing is "glorified club races" and other big races every week. Most diehards travel all the time to go race because there is always that BIG race somewhere.
Too bad it's not a huge club race scene anymore, I think all these big races and traveling is killing the hobby (at least for me). I used to have FUN club racing, now the traveling and BIG races are so serious that it kills a lot of the fun in it. Not to mention the time and money involved when you get serious and travel.

I'm going back to club racing next year to try and bring the fun back into racing for me.
Yea,my old track in kankakee had a fall, winter, and spring series. Winter of course getting the best turn out of regulars. I can understand with the summer stuff. People going all over the state or even midwest for racing so a series then would be pointless. Myself,I know I will try to make it out every sunday.
I was alittle shocked to see that there are no fans in the vents to suck out the smoke. Why is that? Or are there plans to put fans in there. The smoke doesnt bother me that much. But if it just sits there and there is nothing to move it. Then I can understand if it gets to people fast.

I do have to say that it was colder in there on thursday then it ever was at the kankakee track.
for next year, Im making a VOW to club it most of the time... rcp, i will do the close ones... but im gonna put forth a effort to support the club scene, i hope more will follow.
at the old track in crest hill we did run a couple of offroad point series and at the end people did stop showing up and using the throw aways.but it was still fun
They do have fans in the vents. Look up next time lol. The fans are on the ceiling and the vents on the side are just inlets. I have never been anywhere to race besides LH and I like it there. I do like indoor better than outdoor, I have yet to try the buggy outdoor, but with MT I liked indoor better.
I never noticed LOL. I will have to look closer next time.
outdoor is much better, indoor is just too much traction i guess is the way to say it, the whole driving aspect is realy thrown out as u can hold a line alot easier, the smoke is a bitch too
Perfectly said, that's how I feel Mike.
Well today,I saw trucks all over the place. Maybe it was me with my bowties. But by the time the main came around. I have little traction in some areas of the track. I have no problem with either indoor or outdoor.

You should try some Panther Boa C's, a must have for indoors IMO, I was hooked up all day Smile
I also have the Bowties and Crimefighters too, but they're for outside Wink
Matt gosch said the holeshots are the fastest thing he has ran indoor
I have holeshots coming this week. Should be here on tuesday. I will slap them on the revo and go from there. I dont think I will have them on the ST-1 for the classic. Dont think I will run it yet. Just the revo.

But I started out with a set of pythons that I had just picked up off of rocco and it took a couple of heats to get used to them. Then for the 3rd heat,I had the bowties on and that felt good. But when the main came around. I was on ice in a couple of spots.

I think Ive heard you say this before....."of course he'll say that, he's sponsored by them" ? lol

Rocco was running them today, JB was too I think, maybe they'll chime in on how they did in the race....the tires that is....lol

On topic.... I think a point series would be cool, but I dont think Id make it to enough races to do good. I tend to not go as often when it becomes 12 hour days Sad
Holeshots with yellow ofna foam Are FCUKIN dialed!!!!!!!!!!
^told ya Smile
Well I know I would be there the whole time from start to end. No where else to run! LOL. But if I have days end like today did. I wont be going at all. Either I missed placed(I looked everywhere I was and never found them) Or someone lifted my pack of smokes and lighter. Chances are I miss placed them. But I looked everywhere I was since I had them last and they were not there.
I have a set of those foams in my truck still. Waiting for the holeshots to get here and they will be put on with my maximizers
Panther is coming out with a Switch "C" 2.0 in MT form. I have a feeling that will be the next indoor tire to have... Something tells me they may be stickier than the HS MTR's.

Dave K told us that evry few sets will be ready for finals but its true switch 2.0 m/t's are on the way... Along with a VERY sweet outdoor tire!Big Grin Big Grin
I saw the 2.2 version at Amain and thought the same thing. 'how long till the MTs come out!'
the switch 2.0 m/t wont be out till a couple days before finals and will be VERY few at first to go round...

I pumped about the "Boa Moto" a boa carcass with my favorite buggy tire tread... THE K2!!!
AAAAWWWWWW SH!T YEAH DOGGY!!!!!!!
Anyways.... About the topic

I think a week night point series would be bad ass indoor
I miss my friday night runs. Out the door at 2-3am Smile But then again, that worked for me in kankakee. Pick up my son outside gilman and be there intime to race. Going to joliet would be rough.
Before the finals?
