I raced some dry loose tracks (Dirt Dawgs) a couple times with the V-spec and like I said before, it just takes throttle control.
My V-specs are not explosive unless I gun it WOT....if I go easy on the throttle, it is smooth when I want it to be...and I havent even adjusted my EXP yet
Maybe I just have the right clutch setup on it, I dont know, but I do know I like them.
I was talking to Mike L, Kevin, and Thrash, they seem to like theirs too

10-23-2006, 11:08 PM
mike stop tuning them with a butter knife
10-23-2006, 11:10 PM

10-23-2006, 11:15 PM

10-23-2006, 11:15 PM

Eric, I mean the v-spec is explosive when you gun it. Anyone can make a motor smooth with throttle control.
When Ponch asked what a smooth motor is, he needs a motor that will be smooth when he punches it. He is still learning throttle control.
When you PUNCH a v-spec it's EXPLOSIVE
When you PUNCH a RB (any but C5=C6) they are SMOOTH

Yes, Tex you nailed it. I need smooth motors for those with heavy throttle fingers lol...

Thats why I said in a earlier post that I dont recommend a V-spec for a beginner
I was just defending it when people said its not smooth....because it is smooth, as long as you dont hammer down...it just does what your finger does

What's bad about tuning them?
I just had a problem because I was running a dying plug and a tune from mid-summer. I need to richen the lsn some more, but after that not much to do.

Piccos have a rep for finky tunes that need to be chased... Picco fans will say they're picco never needs a re-tune. I hope yours is one of those piccos. I KNOW mine was a cursed one....

lol, I hope mine is a lucky one.
Is there anything I can do if my idle screw is "loose" feeling? I don't think it's moving, but it's really loose in the screwhole and I'm afraid it could vibrate out and make the engine die.
