yep they go till 999999.9 then they go back to 000000.0 and start all over
Yeah! That's what I'm talking about! A new engine every MILLION miles!!!

you never have to replace the block on a diesel! Just the internals.
That thing is in awesome shape for having almost a million miles.

I am pretty sure that most deisels actually have enough digits to go up to 1,000,000. They didn't a while back but it has become very common for them to get over a million miles and keep pulling strong. They really are amazing motors.
Some go 2 million. Looks well takin care of too.
I'll pass this off to my guys and see if anyone is interested... any idea what the tractor weighs?

typically, I've seen trucks run about 1 million miles and then they either get sold off or have glider kits put under them... the engines are still good, but the wear and tear on the chassis/driveline needs serious attentino at that point.. but as I said, this is typically, depends on the truck owner..

the reason they can get such high miles is that its a piston/sleeve setup (i didnt know if you knew that dippy so just making sure)

No idea, all I know is its a Class 8 (33,001 lbs. or more) truck. If you have any specific questions, feel free to call my father at the number in the listing.
reserve has been matched!
yeah that looks like its in nice shape. Not a fan of macks but they are tough trucks.I have a truck at work that has roughly 1,500,000 miles on the odometer! Its a 95 pete with a 3406B or C. Its on its third overhaul. Everytime we have a new driver start in they come into the shop and ask me if the odometer is correct.Yes the reason they get such high mileage is because of the piston and sleeve set up. But the reason for the piston and sleeve is so that you can remove all the internals without removing the block from the chassis. The other reason for long life is because of the lower RPM. There is alot of mass being rotated in the block. Most diesel engines in truck only hit about 2k to 2500 RPM.Il try to get a pic of the odometer next time its in the shop.
and if they didn't have those huge turbos they would be slugs
