So I'm going out there, I finally get to tune my car and I see 3 troopers roll by and park at the end of the parking lot. I figured I'd run my car anyways worst they could really do is ask me to stop. So I start it up and make a few passes to warm it up. I make some adjustments, and run it again.
Next thing I know they hit the sirens at me and call me over. I walk over there with the car idling next to me, goosing it a bit. When I walk over, prepared to be asked to stop the officer instead asks me how fast it goes. I say I dunno, never had a radar gun to clock it. Officer gets in his car and pulls out a radar gun and replies, "lets find out."
So he gets it out there we wait for the cars to pass and I gun it. First pass I had to clear out the pipe from loading up at idle so I bring it back. Cop says, 37. Line it up again and I goos it for about 20ft then bring it back and we clock it again. 45mph. Again 47mph. Each time its getting a little faster as it clears out the extra fuel. Bringing it back I turn the needle a little leaner and run it around for 20 seconds or so.
53mph! And all in about 100 to 150ft or so. Barely any room to stretch it out.
So its official. The cops radar gun can clock the RC cars.
