....and i'm not sorry, lol. but it does suck.
entries brought in $22K
vendor booths brought roughly $10K if that, prolly less
spectators brought roughly $3K, maybe less

the rent for the stadium alone was just under $50K for 6 days, not to mention any other costs which you know there had to have been many other costs associated with putting on that show.

you know how to do word problems right? Smile j/k
how the hell does this guy afford to loose 20k?????
All im saying is how do YOU know what he made and what it cost? Your speculating, unless your Carltons accountant...

I heard the rumors too about what that joint cost but that was all grapevine...

I know how upset we all got when a certain someone kept speculating what LH makes/cost to build and maintain... Seems like the same thing too me.
the banquet had to have been a pretty penny as well, it was nice and the food was great....champagne served to all as well.
I'm not talking shit dude.......and I don't like the fact that money was lost. I think your taking it out of the box.....
Your making it something it ain't.
I think we need to look at it as Carlton does-an investment in the future of the Pro Series, a private business BTW, and the hobby as a whole. For the latter I applaud the man.
I am thinking of it like that. That show he put on was top notch, the best time I've ever had RCing.
Like you say, an investment now so the pro series can prosper later.

Again, by no means was I talking down or talking shit, I am simply a spectator to the business side of it. I have the utmost respect for Carlton and the pro series staff.
.... I just dont think any of us know the facts, NONE of us know how much sponsors kicked in , we dont know how much the joint really cost.... Somthin tells me that Carlton knew what he was getting into

BTW... I dont know what the hell you ment when you said i was takin it outta the box....
I was still writing my above comment when you posted your latest one tex so dont take that out of context
taking it out of the box is like saying taking it out of context
ah
dee dee deee
Go break a motor mount then tell he how strong it is....
Carlton could have also used money he aquired from the entire RCP series. 5 divisions 4 rounds each with min 200 entires. I'm sure he didnt rent out the Metro Center thinking he would take a gamble on losing that much $$$.
rocco do u need a calculator? counting on ur fingers must get tough after you break 10....
Wow! that one really got me !!! Mike did you hear that one playing in the sandbox on recess or where you on the jungle gym?

+1 Rich!
+! on Rich
plus all the sponsors money, plus the additional $20 we all had to pay to join the rcps.

I know he cleared 15K after the 2005 season, he was talking to us in ST Louis about it.

I know the guy loves RC but do you thik he would jepordize his families future for the good of the sport. I am sure he saw it as an investment, as each of the 6 years it has existed have gotten bigger.

Also the Metro center was is being on the verge of being rehabbed. The ICe (whatever) will no longer be playing there, and the Blackhawks minor league team is moving there, and they signed a big multi million contract alot going to the rehab of the building.

So if they knew (metro's centers owners) they where entering this new deal, might of just gotten big discount. You also have to take into ticket sales, I know there was 300 presold tickets
Thie is from what i heard at the finals from a reliable source and what was told to me from Carlton hisself in WV.

Carlton lost his ass on this event, his house, his mairrage(sp?), his credit cards are maxed out, everything was gambled for this event. The guy just breaks even at every race(for nitro off road, all the other series dont even come close to breaking even). Even with all those moneys from sponsors, vendors, etc, it didnt cut it. He lost alot more than $20k. I feel real bad for him, but he knew the risks he was taking, he told me that in WV. I dont think there will ever be another event like this. I just hope the RCPS in general will still be around next season, from what i have heard, this race was the straw. But thats just rumors now. I hope its not true.
