WooHoo the official word is in. November 19 it will be released.

Nintendo has confirmed the launch details released today and has offered us a press release that includes the full party line. Bundled with Wii Sports, in the U.S., the console will include a channel menu and will have a lineup of 30 games available by December 31 2006. Read on to see what the company has to say about its U.S. launch.

Nintendo will reshape the home entertainment and video game landscape with the launch of its heralded Wii home video game console. The Americas will lead the worldwide launch on Nov. 19. Wii will be sold as an affordable, mass-consumer product at an MSRP of just USD 249.99. The price includes one wireless Wii Remote controller, one Nunchuk controller and the groundbreaking collection of five different Wii Sports games on one disc, which anyone can play using simple movements, experienced or not.

Every Wii console includes another distinctive feature: a series of on-screen channels that make up the Wii Channel Menu, which makes the console approachable and customizable for everyone, from the most avid gamer to people who have never played before. The Wii Channel Menu is the starting point for all of the console’s functions. The channels offer a gateway to a rich variety of entertainment options. When connected to a TV, the Wii Channel Menu offers a simple interface, letting users pick games to play, get news or weather, view and send photos or even create playable caricatures of themselves to use in actual games. Additional functions allow users to redeem Wii Points and download classic games to Wii’s Virtual Console. The variety of options available through the Wii Channel Menu motivates both gamers and non-gamers to turn on Wii’s power every day.

Wii is creating worldwide excitement with its unique control system, an inventive, first-of-its-kind controller whose position can be detected in a 3-D space. The new controller allows users to pinpoint targets in games or move through the Wii Channel Menu with precision and ease. This intuitive control system will be understood immediately by everyone, regardless of their previous experience with video games. With this one small controller, Wii makes games both easier and more intense than anything previously experienced. For example, in the Wii Sports tennis game, players swing the Wii Remote like a racket to hit the ball, as in real life. They can add topspin or slice the ball just by angling their hands and wrist like they would in a real match.

Between launch day and Dec. 31, Wii owners will enjoy a robust lineup of 30 software titles, with selections for everyone from video game veterans to newcomers. Some top Nintendo launch titles include Wii Sports, a compilation of tennis, baseball, golf, bowling and boxing; The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess; and EXCITE TRUCK. While publishers are free to set their own prices for games, first-party Nintendo titles will have an MSRP of USD 49.99. Wii’s self-loading media bay also can play the entire library of more than 530 Nintendo GameCube titles from day one.

Third-party developers around the world have lined up to provide unprecedented support for Wii.

Additional information about the list of Virtual Console games and the pricing structure will be revealed in the coming weeks.
Ehhh...
Yeah video games are supposed to be uhh...Non physical activities...I don't like the movement ideas lol...I do like guitar hero though lol
MeH......
Well I know ps3 is already a flop. That will most likely fail. 360 and Wii will be the top systems. Only problem with 360 is there games arent that great IMO. Wii looks to have the total package. New technology, dozens of good looking games, and a great price ($249.99). PS3 will be lucky to have half a million systems at there release for japan and USA. Anyways Wii will be my system of choice, maybe by next fall il have a 360 also.
"EXCITE TRUCK" sounds like such an awesome game!!!
video games are for fags.....ahaha j/p. I dont play much its boring
Only games I play anymore are racing and Military type games. Then again, thats pretty much the only thing I've ever played. My ps2 works good for what I want, when it gets out dated I might pick up a new system, but as long as they are still making games and people are still playing games online then I will keep it.
Wii will prolly have shipment issues, just like ps1 did, 360 did, ps2 did, and ps3 will have. You can't escape it, lol.

Plus, I don't think ps3 will flop. The first 2 were amazing and there is huge following. It'll sell like hotcakes when it releases, no matter the cost.
unfortunatly its gonna be probly a year or 2 before ps3 finally see's some numbers. They delayed there european launch to spring. There numbers already got cut so much its not even funny. Theres probly gonna be 1 or 2 systems at each store at most.
damn more bad news just released for the ps3

According to the Herald Tribune Sony's U.S. and Japan PlayStation 3 launch will be a modest affair with a total of 500,000 units for both territories.

The newspaper reports that although Sony has vowed to deliver the 6 million units it promised by March 2007, it will have to reduce the launch quantities dramatically. The U.S. is likely to see 400,000 units by 17 November, 2006 while Japan will have to make do with 100,000 on 11 November. If he story is correct, Sony is taking a risk and may alienate its home fans who will have to queue for hours and against the odds in order to get their hands on a PS3 console.

The shortages are a result of a production problem involving the Blu-Ray component of the PS3. Sony's Ken Kutaragi said, We decided to focus on the Japanese and U.S. markets, I am so sorry not to be able to answer to all the expectations.

Mr. Kutaragi also made it clear that Sony will not make its initial 4 million units by the end of 2006 target. Instead, he commented, the number of units shipped in 2006 is likely to fall to 2 million.
Meh, I'd rather spend the money on the Jeep or one of my R/C's.
I doubt the PS3 will drop to last like nintendo has been sitting for the past few years. The Wii will be a joke like the others. I have not been hearing anything major about 360 either. I still find more people playing PS2 over the 360. I myself plan to have a PS3 the day they come out. All I have ever had is sony. All I will ever have. Everything else is just a paper weight.

I felt the same....Until I got my xbox Smile then my ps2 became the paper weight.
WOW.....whoever edited that did a gay ass job
bahahahaha
wow
Well if you put it that way...

WII is the winner!
the ps3 looks like its going to be really good, the nitendo looks like it will be fun but nintendo like always looks to be targeting the younger gen like the did with the 64 and the cube but it is backwards compatable with all the cube games, the 360 is right in between both and i know the game support is there not to mention the online gaming is killer, one word halo3.
Halo??what is that??? I will take my Socom anyday. But Joey has it just about right with what systems go to who. Nintendo has always been pointed at the youngins. While Sony and x-crap has been towards the young adults or full adults. I myself am already putting money away for a PS3 and will take the day off on the 17th just to get one Smile
you obviously have never had 4 xboxs hooked together at 5 in the morning after drinking all night at the club with 16 drunk army guys playing halo together it has to be the funnest gaming experience ive ever had Smile
