im not slinging insults ur just wrong, an Axial .28 .32 whatever those motors blow, they are not quality engines. You did not say 528; that is a quality mill and I wouldnt doubt that its faster than a vspec. probably doesnt have the top end but more torque than anything out there i would say. You guys crack me up with the talk of these "budget" motors being so fast and so great, you can give anything alot of top end with a 30 tooth CB. Get real pick up a quality race motor and then play with gearing and you will be amazed. Just like the vids of ur 528 geared up, now THAT was fast but to hear that some axial is faster than a vspec? I stand by my comment that you would have to be on crack to believe that
huh...axial faster than a vspec....OOOOOOKKKKKK! musta had that vspec tuned wrong cause that pos axial wouldnt stand a chance. lolololol

I've seen a LSP-R with a Axial .28 clock 50mph+ on a GPS.

The axials aren't race mills. I've seen a few people have major issues with them not lasting, or coming with big air leaks from the factory. The budget .28's don't have the RPM potential of a race spec .21. What they do have is the displacement to pull the gearing off. A vspec isn't going to pull anything with a 30t clutchbell, nor will a Axial .28, or even a 528xr. No RC clutch setup out there could handle it without melting down.

here is an example, a Vspec and a 30vg. Similar price range. Assume both are bumpstart.

Start with a 13t, vspec is faster then. Keep increasing the CB, 14, 15...22..etc.and testing for terminal top speed and what you will see is that as the gearing gets higher the 30vg starts to catch up. What you will see is that the vspec will stop increasing its top speed as gearing gets taller, it does not have the mid-range torque to pull to higher engine speeds. While the 30vg has all that torque to play with and can push the taller gearing. So then the 30vg begins to acheive higher top speeds.

Put a 2spd into play and the vspec would do much better, the 2spd would allow one to push the taller gearing.
yes i understand how gearing works. Sure you are going to be able to push taller gearing with a bigger motor, but this isnt the real world of drag racing where just because you are pushing bigger ci doesnt mean you are going to get more power. Ok the 30 VG would be faster geared properly for top end, but how much 1 or 2 mph big deal. A vspec will last you 8-10 gallons a VG wont even be close to that. Whats the fun when all u can do is top speed runs, seems like it would get old to me
I had 9 gallons on my VG. I bought one used in shitty condition and sent it in. OS sent me a brand new one. Its basically a 2yr unlimited warranty. Makes a great basher engine for everything. If it didn't have the warranty I'd go Vspec, but that warranty makes it a great investment of a engine.

i dummo what happened here but i never made any claims to my axial bein faster than a v-spec. nor did i claim that its a great motor. i just made claim to the speeds i acheive due to gearing. yes, i know i need the gearing to make any kind of respectable speed. yes, i know that my mill is garbage. thats exactly why i bought my mario rossi ninga and am workin on the v-spec.

im just doin what i can with what i have. what ive done with what i have obviously does the job....not in the best fashion...but it does the job none the less....FOR UNDER 250!!
but really....whats the argument for. c'mon guys

my lsp ran 57+ mph consistantly out at kohls. and all i did to do that was 18 tooth clutch bell.

lol top speed runs are not fun for some...but are to others. i think ur straying a bit
racers should stay out of the basher threads with the "race theorys" is the problem.

Bashers like to go top speed and jump houses....
Racers like to go fast from corner to corner and downside jumps perfectly....
I cant read bash threads now tex?

crash, thirdgen claimed it had more power than a vspec not u
oops +1 on tex's comment.

yes you can read basher threads, no1 said you couldnt. but dont knock on some1 elses stuff if its not ur forte!

dude i never claimed that
^^^ sorry...i misread ur post
yupp thats what i just said, read what you quoted.

ya i dont know shit about engines Rolleyes
Czech-it-Out Graphics Wrote:I cant read bash threads now tex?

I somehow knew you were going to take that wrong, lol.
I said "race theorys" should not be expressed in a basher thread, it's useless because their style is so much different than a racers mentallity.
Thirdgen89GTA Wrote:No, the axial has much more mid-range torque, even though the powerband falls off fast, it still makes a little more power than a Vspec.

hope that clears it up.....

i agree, what are you going to do with a v-spec that goes 60 anyways at the track? You MAYBE get up to 40 but thats prolly pushing it.
why must you post?
Dude my vspec goes like 120 around the track cuz I custom modded a 5 speed manual tranny in there...

HAHAHAHAHAHAH.....BAHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA!!!!!
Czech-it-Out Graphics Wrote:why must you post?

why not?
cuz u spew ass clownery from every oraface
thats kinda weird...
Rotf Lmfao!!!!
You guys are killing me, ROTF LMAO!
Sometimes slower is faster on a oval.
Especially if you can corner good.
Yes I piss off the faster guys with the V specs and other bigger engines that cost major $$$. But I can corner better and that gives me a edge. My Axial does the job and it may be a POS but it works for me for now . I don't like paying big $$$ for the big mills.
And I still have fun that is what it is all about!
