just 6 hours ago the crocodile hunter was killed. He was filming some underwater shots and a sting ray stung him somewere on the chest and he almost instantly died. I cant believe this at all. That guy had an awesome show and I loved how he got so involved with the wild life.

it's kinda sad he really did bring back people being interested in wildlife. He made animal planet a popular channel
Yes it is sad. I read the poisonos barb on their tail which can be 10" long stabbed him in the chest putting a hole in his heart. The poison isn't deadly it was the hole in his heart that killed him.....
His show is the only good show on Animal Planet.

Not really sad to see him gone...Not happy he died either though. I didn't watch his shows, but like you guys said I feel bad for his family and friends.

I heard it is only the 3rd recorded death from a sting ray.
Stingrays have a serrated, toxin-loaded barb, or spine, on the top of their tail. The barb, which can be up to 10 inches long, flexes if a ray is frightened. Stings usually occur to people when they step on or swim too close to a ray and can be excruciatingly painful but are rarely fatal, said University of Queensland marine neuroscientist Shaun Collin.

That is one hell of a shot from that sting ray to hit where it did. Just an inch in any direction and he would be in the hospital with a sore chest.

Totally unfortunate that this happened. The guy really had some great show and i did watch them when they are on. I was very surprised when i heard about it, I still cant believe it. The dude had some Ballz that only a few could have doing that type of stuff and risking his life like that. Really is sad.
