Just got some new bowties and crt rims was wondering if any new if it would be better to glue the tire to the inner bead. Making the tire thinner better steering etc... is it worth it?

Are you narrowing them for clearance or just to narrow the tire?
clearance isnt an issue was going for thinner tire.
are they bow tie mt's? Just glue them in the normal bead
as for bowties?? on all my crimefighters i narrow them seems to give a better profile.... cant wait for the new prolines, can they be gotten anywhere??
czech told me he doesnt like them narrow, makes the truck too twitchy feeling i guess it all depends on how you drive
yeah it depends on how you drive, i know my trucks steering is really twitchy......just ask tex....lol j/p man

uhhh i do like them narrow bud Smile

dont cut any of the bead off, mount both sides inside of the bead, then rough up the sidewall and glue that down to the edge. First glue the inner part, then take some elecrtic tape and start taping down the sidewall and pulling it back untill u are left with a smalll lip to glue down. Little trick from the Gosch's and the tires are awesome

So basically you are reducing sidewall height and tire width, while providing more sidewall bite? Notice any traction rolling because of the tread being stretched a bit over the side?

Glue your tire on like you normally would, but on the very inside lip.

Rim (T=where the tire gets glued)

Then squish the tire down so that the sidewall is touching the outside lip of the rim. Tape it there. Then glue the sidewall to the lip of the rim.

yepp pretty much what R2k said. Just try and get teh sidewall down as even as possible. I have not noticed any real downsides to glueing the tires like this, my car is quicker through turns and more agile when traction gets low. If anything, there is a bit of a loss in rough track handling, but it is miniscule.

Thats the same way my Crime Fighters are glued up too Smile
That lil bit of plastic translates to alot more throw...
Ya thats the way im gluing mine as well.
No cash race for you Shinner ?
I didn't go either.... I have to take care of some stuff around the houseSad
My motor isnt ready to be raced yet.
You were pushing it pretty hard the other day at the track..But that just imo... And you were doing it like do a lap, bring it in and temp etc, go do a lap and repeat.
True true I would say I was pushing it about 65-75%, temps where in the 200s -230's at that point I had about 8-10 tanks through the whole motor, still needs to be tuned a bit then ill race.
Great power for 8-10 tanks...
Ya the c6bb is going to be sick! That was with a 14tooth clutch bell going to put it to a 13 tooth.
