Here are the pix of my new hand-made starter box. I had a thread up a while back looking for a donor box for parts. Never did find one so I bought the internals from OFNA - Nitro House. After alot of work - about 25 hours it's finally done. And the motor started first try!!
Looks great.
Is that aluminum diamond plate?
Nice!!
Coolest lookin starter box ever.
Very nice work, I knew you'd come up with something good!
Amazing!! My apologies for ever doubting your abilities before. Now.... the next truck that comes out that will need a wild starter box, make one and market it.
Thanks for the good word. Takes the edge off of attempting something so complicated.
Man that thing looks awesome. It works awesome too, starts up that Orion .26 without problems at all. I heard RD Racing only has 90 boxes left. Marke what did orion do about your cooling head?

Orion has sent me a new one. Not here yet but maybe today. Strange that in 1 week both the Picco .27 and the Wasp .26 had a broken cooling fin. I don't think I ever understand how.....
Only problem I see, is how much does it weigh?
that starter box looks great... nice work on it
that is totally trick man
Very nice work!
very cool
thats awsome!!

Not much at all, i've held it a couple times when i pitted for Marke.

The Revo is about 9lbs. FOC, no starter, 1/2 of one radio box on the battery/receiver.

The Ofna/Picco .27 is in a 9.5 Pro buggy a little less than 9lbs.

You would think that 4 inches of suspension travel would soak-up any impact.

The buggy obviously doesn't work like that.....
Oh, I forgot to answer DAVEC-NITRO-RS4. Yes that's 1/8 aluminum diamond plate. I got really lucky by finding some nice black nylon diamond plate for the end covers, so it is matching all around.....
Very nice work.
pretty cool

I was talking about how much the starter box weighs.
thats tricked uot dude......you should seriously market that, you might be able to mass produce them and sell them
Sorry about that. I thought you were saying something about why one cooling fin broke on two of my motors only a week apart. It just fell off and sat on the lower one jingling around. Kinda wierd....

The box weighs about 4lbs. Without the battery you can't even feel the weight of it.
I wonder if there's any market for it. The Revo has been around for a while, everyone might already have one.... No way I could make them myself. Not enough space. And bending 1/8 alunimum requires an unexpected large amount of force.....
