Does anybody have a basic setup for the outdoors for the SP-2 buggy? Shocks, diff, arm & shock positions.... etc.....

Thanks Joey
Stick around, I'm sure you'll get some setup help real soon.

Brake bias is best tuned to your driving style. some like the front to grab more, some like the rear to grab a little more. The rear should be toe-in slightly, 1-2*, and the front should be toe-out 1-2*. front arms should be parallel to the ground, and the rear dogbone should be parallel.

These are all basic starting points, and you can tune from there. need more rear traction? soften the rear or stiffen the front springs. More steering? firmer rear or softer front springs.

Keeping in mind, I am fairly new to Buggy racing also, but these are starting points that were sugested to me.
.
my set up for sp2.

front:

upper arm ran short, inner hole on upright.
middle hole on tower
med blue springs, no clips.
inner hole for lower shock on arm
pretty sure 22º caster.
diff is 5 mugen
shock oil is 60 losi
im bettin 1.4 or what ever stock is.
ackerman is in the rear hole.
A and L blocks.
1oz of lead under the uni/akerman plate...

center is
7 mugen
slight rear brake bias.

rear:

ceter hole, top row for shock tower.
inner hole on arms.
outter hole on rear hubs
inner row, bottom hole for camber link
3º KHZ reat toe plate
2º anti squat
3k mugen in diff
the sways are at the end of the bar, both front and rear appear to be
the same thikness...
shock oil is losi 40, (ill email him now and see if the pistons are
stock...)

ride heigth, rear arms level, and front... arm, bones split differance.

if i missed anything lemme know.
ceter hole?
I think my wife has one.
Bernie, being out on the hot black top every day is getting to you I think....LOL
I think Slim meant "cedar" hole. Ya know, like the paneling in a cabin.....
no, ceter hole, you now what she ceter on.
Slim, do u use the same setup for indoors at LH? Does anybody else have SP2 setup's for the indoor/outdoor track? Also, any indoor/outdoor tire recommendations. Thanks
Im not sure on his setup but im 100% sure his indoor(smooth high traction tight track)setup cant be the same as outdoor (rough med-low traction fast wide open)
Tires-

Outdoor; Komodo 2's, MS compound, stock foams
Indoor; Switch 2's, C compound, foam of your choice, prefferably molded.

I honestly like my k2's better than my crimes. I would like to try a set of bowties though. Mike, have you tried k2's? j/w
no i havent, I havent seen a need to, having a fastest lap 2 tenths off sonny's gave me enough confidence in what im running LOL

What if, by changing tires, you got a faster lap than sonny o's best?

If you want next time we're both at the track you can try mine for a tank.
thanks, but i dont see the point if i like them i cant run them anyway. Im gonna try bowties they should be the ticket
Not even at club races?
What would be the point of racing a tire at a club race? All you'd be doing is wasting valuable practice time on a tire you can't run at the bigger events.
Matt, Mike is sponsored by proline, put it together.
im gonig to order up some bowties once I get some money
just cuz i run switches indoor doesnt mean i can run anything but panther indoor Wink
Get them new Holeshots yet ???
