I'm reading page 201 in the July issue of XRC. One of the 'ask the professor' questions is asked by a guy named davecnitoS4 and I'm wondering if it's you Dave?
Can't be. Who needs to ask magazines when you have this forum??? LoL
he might have asked in the XRC forum?
yep...they had a hard time typing out the whole screenname. Asked it on their forum months ago.
What was the question/answer??

And clear out your PM's o' famous one.
smart-aleck!
what?
ok...nevermind...
so did you know you made it into the mag?

yep, saw it there, too. It took me a while to notice it, though. That page was kind of distracting Big Grin

I asked that question to them when we were all discussing it here....
cool it made it to the mag, wow it takes a long time for it though.
Derek B said:

"It doesn't matter what percentage you use or change to. The thing that matters is that the engine is shimmed correctly. Your engines instructions generally tell you what it's shimmed for. Going up in percentage will make you have to add a shim, while going down will make you take one out. Having less compression, going from 30% o 20% will not harm the engine. Having it shimmed for 20% and going to 30% might cause higher temps and blown plugs.

You don't have to "re-break" in the engine, but remember to retune. Just richening it up so you don't run too lean is all you need to do, and retuning for the new fuel."

Can't recall all the answers I got here.....
Derek Buono is right but he's not god as he makes himself out to be Wink
Yeah, he doesn't really ask or clarify if the process is the same for small block or big block engines. I was more curious to hear what the answer would be from an "industry guy" at a magazine.
Hey Dave your in the October issue now, pg.28
I was lol, that page was funny as hell.
In there twice...see the Professor section page 183!
