Just curious for those of you with a t-maxx, would you go Gorrillamax racing suspension or American CNC? American CNC seems to be the best buy. I've written both asking what their warentee policy is.
UE, we don't really do ACNCM here, unless it's a part or two. We leave that at the Traxxas board
If not UE, fastlane at the least. See we have pretty much bought all the cheap stuff already and broke it and ended up wasting our money. Then we bought good stuff and never have problems (like bending aluminum etc...) UE and Fastlane both have great warranties. I would suggest UE at all costs because it is 7075 aluminum and fastlane is 6061 (I think). 7075 is stronger and lighter than 6061.
If you want the best suspention for your maxx, I saw a used RacerX UE suspension on the UE forum for $200 shipped. It's $400 new. Comes with shock towers, a-arms (very trick, check it out) turnbuckles, knuckles. So it comes with alot of stuff.
What's the UE warrentee like?
EDIT: looked it up myself "If you ever break or wear out an Unlimited Engineering product, you can trade your damaged item for a brand new replacement for 60% of the item's current list price. So if the list price on an item is $10, you only pay $6"
I wrote to CNC today and they said they have no warentee, if it bends or breaks your just SOL.
I don't know, maybe aluminum is mostly for show. Perhaps just sticking with RPM is the best way to go.
Certain brand of aluminum is just for show. You can actually run UE and Dace stuff. I bash the crap out of my UE stuff and it's just the way I purchased it.
One of the guys that used to run with us (XTMaxxer) ran Wide Open Throttle into a fencepost with UE Supermax suspension, and only slightly bent it. The UE parts are VERY HIGH quality parts. Not to mention, they hold re-sale value very well... If you decide down the line to sell off the Maxx for a different truck, you can pull off the UE parts and get back almost what you paid for them.
Well I've talked to CNC, Gorilla and the UE people and UE wins hands down on standing behind their product. They are the only one I've found that will warentee their aluminum suspension parts.

you can actually get EXACTLY what you payed for them if you buy used. You only take a loss if you buy new.
Say you buy some used UE diffs for $185. You can use them and re-sell them again for $185.
(granted you didn't run too many gallons through them and they are still in very good condition)
more expensive than what? dynamite? Those are pretty cheap in price. They have a good warranty, not sure how the customer service is?
Fastlane may be the second best thing after UE. Half of their stuff is a copy of UE stuff (to a point) but it's 6061 instead of 7075 aluminum. Again, 7075 is stronger and lighter.
You get what you pay for. Trust us when we say we have already bought the cheap stuff and ended up at UE. So after you waste your money on cheap stuff you end up buying UE anyway and it turns into more money spent. Otherwise you might as well stay RPM like you mentioned earlier.

if you want a bad ass truck, just buy this. It would save you money in the long run. This is all top quality stuff. You would just need to swap your radio, servos from your current truck, buy a .21 or bigger motor and you would have a top contender.
You could sell all your current t-maxx stuff for a couple hundred too.
for instance.... the diffs and body alone in that auction equal $300. There is about $1000+ dollars sitting there.
Warrentee makes a big difference to me. With UE, say you spend $100 on a-arms and they bend, it will cost you $60 to replace them where with fastlanemachine it would only cost you $8
But a crash that will fold a Fastlane arm, will hardly make a dent in UE.... Warantee is big, but performance and quality is more important....

The EXT kit is setup like the stock setup, but improved... The RacerX is a highly modified setup, which is great for racing.... It eliminates the rear turnbuckle, which results in better handling... SO, I wouldn't say that the EXT is better for bashing, but I will say the RacerX is better for racing. Although both setups will work great for Bashing and Racing. SixVI6Camaro has the RacerX on his truck, and will bash as hard or harder than the rest of us....
This is the right time to talk UE suspension with tax time and bonuses coming. I could very well slip a few hundred off the checking account without anyone noticing
both suspensions are awesome for either. But yes, that is the general idea.

Back to the quality comment, a crash that will fold a fastlane arm won't even phaze, much less dent a UE arm. It's comparring the apples to oranges.
Say you have fastlane and end up using their warranty on (4) arms. that's $32. I can almost guarrantee you will NEVER have to use UE's warranty. I've only seen UE stuff break once in person. That was a Sirio.23 powered predator full speed into a brick wall usinf racerX suspension.
Another person was telling me that RPM arms will bend to the point where the drivetrain takes a direct hit.
tis true. RPM is very flexy that's why it's so hard to break. With RPM stuff you will bend hinge pins left and right (as with the stock arms). Other stuff gets messed up when the RPM stuff flexes.
Well you guys have got me sold on UE. I'm going to work at buying it pieces at a time.
Which chassis would be the replacement for my 2.5?
Dace/UE "Duece" predator chassis. That's if you want to stay small block and use all your stock drivline and stuff. If you want to go BB, get the Thunder chassis.

I need a new motor mount, one corner of mine broke off recently. Will that fit on the stock chassis?
