As many of you know.... I have run just about every class at some point, and after being out of the game for a while, am trying to get back in on one heck of a budget. I need some opinions as to which way to go.

Mr. Tune has offered up a GS Storm in basic RTR form. Stock motor, basic AM radio (I may have an XR2 around here) basic servos, 4 cell reciever pack.... entry level buggy. (I love the storm BTW)

My question is should I go this route, or try to pick up a cheap 1/10 scale somewhere?? (XXX-NT or GT)

I know that the scale will be more durable, but 1/10 parts will be cheaper. I think scale may also be more fun to bash, and has a larger class. Granted the storm is not a race buggy, I can still be out there. Big Grin

I am leaning towards the storm (We are at about a 90% lean here) but I just wanted to get a couple last reccomendations because I value the opinions on here. (Most of them at least). Wink I think that with basic upgrades like reciever pack, and maybe servos, I can at least get around the track with a few of the other scales. When money is a little easier to come by I could always swap out a motor and other parts to get more competative, and then just swap out the roller at some point.

So, what do you guys think?? Pick up Scale??

Thanks everyone, Especially John,
Dan
Dan....

Just buy the storm... You'll never EVER get a deal like that anywhere else...
95% lean..... j/k I know man, just looking at all options real quick. I am mostly waiting on pictures and finalizing everything after the weekend. I guess since Al's stocks a lot of storm stuff I really can't complain either.

Now the other problem..... This pain patch that I have to wear for another 10 days or so is a narcotic so I am not legally allowed to drive. If this works out is anyone heading out to the track next Sunday from about Roosevelt and 355?? I get all Sundays off even if I end up starting work on light duty before then.....

That and the only tools I have left is a hex driver set, pliers, and a socket set. :-( I need to start all over again.....
F'in kids... Who gets rid of tools!

honestly!
Scale! Big turnout always.

Ummm.....I never really had RC tools. LoL I kept the drivers, the sockets and pliers were my only other real tools. LoL Oh.... and my screwdriver. LoL Not RC stuff, but snap-on should work. I guess the only tools I really got rid of was traxxas crap. And I have my Dremel....

Oh well.... It will take time again. I hope the storm at least has a cool body because I suck at painting.....

And I should have kept my shock and diff fluids. Maybe the extra screws too.... Damn! What about my personal transponder. I am soon to fall into the money pit again. Sad
Where the heck did all that mula go? Oh and a couple weeks ago you missed a PT for $50 lol...
Remember I bought a $1600 bike that I can't ride. :-) (And I definitely will not sell) I actually still owe the guy a bit so that will hold off some of my spending on RC for now. That is why I really need some help getting back into this. I know that whatever people are able to do to help me, I will do my best to repay them or help them, I've just got some things against me right now. (you know, can't drive, can't work, can't lift anything, out of money, and need to do something to keep me sane over the next few weeks.)

What do you think about bringing this thing to college?? Any time, tracks, anything?? Or would I be best leaving it at home for occasional Sunday races??
I would say go for the storm.

 Ummmmmm.... ok?

I'll check it out though. There is a day down there for all of us Freshies where all of the groups and clubs set up little booths in the quad with information and such. They said there are several hundred and that if you do it there is probably a club for it or a group of people that could form a club for it. I was going to look for a mountain biking or cycling one and then a camping, climbing, or outdoor one, I imagine there is a pretty good possibility of an RC one if there are tracks nearby. I'll check it out before I bring it all down though. Heck if there ends up being a club and racing through the school year I will probably end up picking up a different roller sometime down the line when I actually have money. Idea
outta ur hair goof...u know after racing
Oh.... Gotcha. LoL
