OK, I got the diff out of the truck, took it apart and there was no oil in it. As soon as I noticed it was stiff i stopped, as far as I can tell all of the gears are good. I oiled it up and it spun fine, aas sso as i put the cover back on it was a little worse, but when I put the case on it, it got really bad. Any ideas?
Can't comment on the fix, but have a question...

The inside of the diff cup was dry-dry, or was there any sign that it once had diff fluid?
There was a little left, but no where near enough to do anything.
And were you noticing leaking? Or not?
replace the diff cup and seals. Also A tip I got from somebody was to tap out the diff cup first for the screws then put it all together. It should seal a lot better after you do this.
Traxxas if your just bashing just put grease in them! It wont leak out and it will do a fine job of keeping thiings lubed in between service breakdowns
he said he was going to start racing in the summer, but lets see
He will, I'll force him to lmao....He's already asking to borrow/buy tires from me lol.
Traxxas junkee if you want to send me the diffs il rebuild them for you. Send me a pm and il do it for free, you just pay for any parts you might need. I would definatly replace the diff cups and seals tho. Its 8 bucks and makes them new. LMK.
Thanks for the offer Mich, I was going to get get the new seal today and see how it worked out, i didnt get around to it though, I will head up to LH tomorrow and get it. If that doesn't work I'll probally send it to you.
Kyle, before you go thru the trouble shipping it, lemme take a look at it, mabye we can figure out what it is if I'm there in person instead of just over the phone.
Well let me know. I can put together a revo diff completly dissasembled in about 5 minutes. Its really very easy once you've done it 20 times.

Exactaly! Lol I've stripped so many front pinion and ring gears it ain't even funny. I can get it back together in 10 mins max.Smile
Ive rarely stripped anything. Just general maitence so I wont strip anything
Oh see at the track a couple of times I'd hit the brakes too hard, and it'd chip a tooth or two off.
I set my brakes up so they don't lock yet still stop the truck perfectly fine. Diffs last alot longer this way.

Traxxas_Junkee, if your diffs were binding with no oil, then something was wrong. If anything they will be more free flowing with no fluid.
He was talking to me on the phone yesterday and the message I got was that part of the gasket between the ring gear and the case with the spider gears broke in half or something so the ring wasn't sitting right against it, possibly causing a bad mesh.
