I was given 12 AA rechargable batteries. The thing is these batteries are NIMH 2400mah 1.25V. I charged them up and put 8 of them in my JR XR3. The voltage reading on the radio was 11.0V. So if I put 4 in the car I get 5.0V. Are these ok to use or do they have to be 1.5V batteries? Will they weaken my signal from Trans to receiver? I would like to use them cause the charger I have is ultrafast and charges the batteries in about an hour. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

you can use them. I use rechargable 2500mah batteries in my m8 and after they get a fresh charge I usually see 11.4 volts in the controller. Go ahead and use it.

Likewise, the XS3 radio works great down to +/- 9.0 volts (about) then starts beeping at you.
In the RX pack, they are at least as good as 4 AA dry cells just on capacity alone. AA alkalines drop to 1.2 volts almost immediately when you run the car, and get lower with every minute. The rechargeables drop to the lower voltage and stay flat on voltage until they discharge to "dead" levels.
The best answer for the car, is the 5 cell hump pack at 6.0 volts. It's worth the money. But rechargeable aa's are still better than Duracells.
You can run them in your radio no problem. Low 11s is where mine is at after a full charge too.
I would recommend against using them in a truck though. Not enough voltage. That's why everyone goes from 4 aa's to humppacks. Humppacks have 5 batteries in there, which make up for the fact that rechargeables are 1.2v verus the 1.5 from an alkaline. If you wanna use nimh batteries in your truck, use 5 not 4 (pretty much making your own humppack at this point).
Transmitters are much more tolerant in the low voltage department than receivers. Even the cheaps will throw a low battery warning low before it actually shuts itself off. You don't get this luxury with a receiver unles you have a strong throttle return spring to center a powerless, stuck at wot servo.

I use the Energizer 2500mah rechargeables from Wal-Mart in my M8.
I also used 5 of the same batteries to build my own receiver pack, which comes out to 6v.... and it lasts a long time too

Found Sanyo 2400's (4 AA's) along with two AAA's (900mah) and wall charger at Costco for $20. Fair deal, I thought.
walmart has the 2500mah energizers, 8 in a pack and a 15 minute charger for 30 bucks. Yours was a fair deal tho if you use aaa's.
That's not a bad deal. I paid $9.99 per 4pack of 2500's at Menards.

On the JR transmitters, the polarity at the jack is backwards from the norm, which explains why it discharged instead of charging them
Walmart is evil! I guess I need a stick pack (Flat). For the RS4. You guys have any suggestions on what to buy.
A cheap but name brand GP3300 stick pack is available at radio shack for $25.
I find the pack stronger in output then my other GP3300 SMC stick packs.

Not a 6cell stick, you want a 5 cell hump pack for the RX.
