Well thursday night thanks to the taxman, I was able to purchase myself an E-Maxx and another RC18T (to replace my Bandit edition one I sold). Well I new what to expect from the RC18T, but the E-Maxx really rocks. It is fast and nothing seems to be able to stop it. I had to make adapters for the ESC, since all my batteries have deans plugs on them, and I didn't want to change the EVX esc plug until the the warrenty runs out. So I'm the two 3800's and they last quite a while. And with the Spekturm DX-3 radio no glitches and smooth shifting into second gear. I can't wait to start upgrading this guy, and since almost all Maxx parts will work on all Maxxs I can make this truck into something undrestructable.
Cool! What body color? Pics?
I got the blue, I still have to upload my pics from the camera. Only if I had $200 extra, I could gotten the 3.3 TMaxx too, I guess I have to wait till summer.
sweet
Well here are a few pics of the E-Maxx and RC18T. Still stock but give me a few months Big Grin

Nice! The E-Maxx is super fun, I wish I still had mine.
Even though this will be in the future, but I'm debating when I start upgrading my E-Maxx if I should go all like RPM, or aluminum, or a happy mix of the two. The only thing I know for sure is that I will be goin brushless with it.
I would go aluminum bulks, and the rest RPM. Traxxas_Junkee has an all RPM one and it's very durable even with the stock bulks.
Yup, on my Maxx, the only thing that i have ever broke are the bulks skidplate and a few axel carriers, but the stock ones are going to be replaced with RPM ones soon.
yeah get all rpm arms, and get rpm bulkhead braces(they say these help the stock bulks from breaking)......if you keep breaking the bulks then get integy aluminum bulks, I know I know everyone says intejunk, butI have had these and bashed them for 8 months and ran almost full wot into a tree and they dont show any sign of bending or cracking. also the integy are a little cheaper for front and rear.
Well it was bound to happen, but was out having fun with the Emaxx and I cut a turn to wide and nailed my mailbox dead on at full throttle. But luckily only thing that was broken was the left front A-arm. I felt so dumb. But it got me to order some RPM arms from Tower. Hobbytown didn't have enough instock, and Al's didn't have the black ones. I wanted the black, because the body I have planned for it. But tomorrow I will run to HobbyTown and pickup a set of stock arms, so I can take it to my uncles track (he just finished it). Well here it a picture of the wound.

So I guess this is the begining of the upgrading process.
Ouch....You got lucky.
yeah, atleast it was just an arm
Well I started to repair the Emaxx with some stock a-arms until my RPM arms arrive. Well when dissambling the front end, I found the lower arm was cracked, and the hinge pins where bent. So looks like I'm off to Hobbytown again tomorrow. Here are some more pictures.

thats why i bought a lst2...i got tired of breaking arms and bending pins on my maxx
You shouldn't have to buy new pins, just put those in a vice to straighten them out, just watch for the threads at the top.

+1 thats what i did
Well I added all RPM arms all around, RPM Skidplates, lightwieght input shaft to the E-maxx. When I was adding the arms I notice also cracked the front bulkhead, I'm going to pick up some aluminum bulkheads, and I want to added the RPM shock towers/body mounts, but they only have one mount hole for the shocks. I will add some more pictures of the upgrades, just have to get them off the camera.
Go with the Dace bulks.

and keep an extra set of hinge pins on hand. Once you get the RPM arms on there that is what will bend/break every time. I just keep an extra set of them on hand so when you have an mishap you can just change it out and keep bashing.

I havent had any issue with the bulks.... just bent pins.

I have an emaxx and I am runnig a BK warrior 9920esc and Feigo 9L motor. on a custom 5s2p 8000mah Lipo pack. Let me tell you.... SILLY. Cool :racing: Can't recomend the brushless upgrade enough! ALtough you will also need steel CVDs all around and in the center and upgrade to the Robinson Racing slipper to go with it. The first time I ran it with the new brushless set up on standard 6 cell nimh packs I tore up the plastic drive shafts. They just were not made for that kind of power.
