I need some help. I was running my Revo yesterday. I was running it by at a park by my house with a huge dirt mountain. In the middle of my run the truck just shut off. I go to look at it and the air filter had popped off and I noticed the carb had some dirt and dust in the carb funnel. Now I can't get the truck started for the life of me. Could I have totally messed up the motor where I will need a new one? I haven't looked at the motor yet what would I be looking for if I take it apart?

The thing that sucks is I just got done breaking it in and this was my first run. I guess I might be looking at the 3.3 if its not fixable.
If you take it apart, just see if there is any debris in there.
Sounds like you may have trashed it...remove the backplate, carb and cooling head...flush it out w/ nitro cleaner, inspect it for scratches. If you suspect it sucked in dirt don't try to start it
Engine Replacement Program!!
it's gone bro, just trade it in now!
Did you not have a zip-tie on the filter?
Yeah bud... Take it and trade it in... It sucks i know
just get the 3.3
Is 2.5 T-Maxx drive shafts able to withstand the power of the 3.3? How much more power is the 3.3 than the 2.5?

Don't the 3.3 T-Maxx have Revo style drive shafts?
Gabes seemed to hold up to his modded p5 so i would think they would hold up to the 3.3
I doubt the 2.5 maxx could stand the 3.3, the revo can though.

He has a 2.5 maxx. I was asking if the 2.5 maxx driveline can handle a 3.3.

I am saying that the new 3.3 T-Maxx has Revo style axles so that means the 2.5 maxx probably can't handle the 3.3
Guess ya really wont know till you try!

Still has the same old T-Maxx diffs though. (I think)
just get a 3.3. Lets just the your gonna need new bearings, piston and sleeve. New seals to make the engine run like new again. Just get a 3.3
The 3.3 does have Revo style axles, but it still uses standard 2.5 Maxx size center drives and std. Maxx diffs.
Thanks for clearing that up.

I would try the 3.3.

Nice avatar ORC. LOL

From the sound of it he tried to start it already... Rolleyes
Thanks for the replies. Yeah I did try to start it. I thought it died so I tried starting than it wouldn't. I then took the body off and noticed the missing air filter. I am going to take the motor apart and see what kind of damage I did.

If the 3.3 is just a drop in with no major modifacations I will go that route
It is a drop in.
Just put the clutch on from your 2.5 and bolt it down. Its just that easy
