As the title states, what do they think of your rc hobby?
"she hates everything about it" should have been the fourth option. My wife hates it because it takes up my time and money, double whammy!
u forget a choice...."I dont have one"
My girl may think its alittle odd, but she likes that it makes me as happy as it does.
I think you nee to add another option.

She HHHHHHAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS it......

Takes to much time and money... So she says
mine doesn't think its a problem at all.. cause I don't have one.
how about another option.......a b*tch is a b*tch.

Does it really matter? Its my money, and if some trick tries to tell me different....oh well then. I mean seriously...am i smoking crack? Its r/c cars. My girl hates my Mustang too, and I dropped 20g's in it without flinching. She hates my other mustang, and i still bought it. If she dont like it, i'll find another that will.
I must be lucky. My wife doesn't mind my hobbies, none of which are cheap. R/C is still a fairly new one but expensive if you let it be. My Mustang takes the $$$ cake as there have been thousands put into it but she likes the car and even will get to take it for a spin (with me) on occasion. Fishing is another hobby where you think ahh all I need is a pole and some lures....NOT! Guitar playing is another one that can be cheap, but I don't do cheap...USA Jackson's, Gibson Les Pauls and a few others all start over a grand a piece add up pretty fast as well. The only thing she doesn't get about the R/C trucks is why I need more than one, although she is getting me a Revo for Xmas...or at least a Gift certificate from Tower towards one.
My wife hates it only for the reason that I HAVE to fix it when it breaks, and I have to have the BEST stuff for it. She even hates it more since I want to get another R/C, either a boat or heli. But she does stomach it as she does get her hair done and nails, most every other "GIRLIE" thing as well, so thats a little ammo in my defense.
Does anyone else's wife ask this:

Did you break anything? How much is that gonna Cost?

Every time i run or race she asked this, not did you have fun, did you win.
yeah something like that.
My Wife bought me both the T and Rustler. She doesnt mind one bit. I just have to give her a 4 days notice when I am going to bash so she can go shop. I have fun but this is not an insane hobby for me so I spend when I need. If it aint broken and it runs fast, why do anything? Shit who am I kidding just bought every Parma color, airbrush and a compressor. LOL
I know where I'm painting my bodies from now on........Party at Brokefreaks house Smile

Well said DiAugustino!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Totaly true if shes just a gf! Big Grin Wink Cool :p
wife/girlfriend.....who cares. i am never getting married.

player for life racing!!!!!
My girlfriend doesn't mind it she says it is my paycheck and I should be entitled to spend it. She has even come out on occasions and taken pictures. She has tried the TEX 4, but she is scared of breaking it. She has even tried gotten involved in helping me try and work on my cars. So I guess I am lucky that she at least show an interest.
Quote:She has tried the TEX 4,

whats a tex 4? you meen the rs 4 3? chimp boy!!!!!!!!!!!!! Big Grin Big Grin
My wife has her own T-Maxx. She never would drive mine. Finally after I built 3 for me, she wanted one of her own. I told her to pick out the parts & I would assemble it for her. Thats what happened & she runs hers with me.
My wife really didnt care for it all that much when I was working all week then racing every weekend, now that I dont have a job and was forced to off all my R/C's I am at home all the time now and she is working OT to come up w/ extra funds to get me another one and back out of the house every weekend...go figure!
My wife bitches about it a little. She doesnt like me spending the money on it. I got it so me and my older son would have something fun to do together.
Well my ex-girlfirend didn't mind too much, since I got her a B3 buggy, and used to drive my cars all the time until she killed my Revo.
My GF is very cool about it. She makes an very good living and we have a nice place so she's happy that I'm happy. I'm not at the bars like some of my buddies are.
Mine makes a little bit of a fuss about the racing on Sundays, but that is mostly because I only see her on the weekends. I know once I move closer and see her all the time she will care less.
Ya know I thought I answered this thread when it was new, but here goes:

The wife thinks I'm retarded for getting into this hobby, becuase I lose interest in every hobby sooner or later and we have a house full of my old "dusty" stuff.

I am telling her this one is for real. RC is like nothing else I've tried. I know if I try flying, that's it. I'll be building a 2 car garage in the backyard. I'm already scheming on how I can build out the back of my current garage for an RC shop!

So I guess she's right, I AM retarded. But the funny thing is....I don't even remember back to when I was tarded the first time around.
my wife says i like racing more than her......

man, id like to find out who told her.....

the last few weeks it was cool that i went racing, but normally it causes a BIG ole fight.
im MR mom all week, i do all the mom things now, the kids at in my office for 3 hours EVERY day, and im stressed out on that alone. i want 1 day to do what i want damm it. i know i spend alot on this, but it is better than spending it in the bar and coming home to beat her a$$ on a reg basis.
