Rocco, what weight oil do you use in the diffs on your Savage?
I run 1k in the front and 7k in the rear
I've been using a light grease but I hear it may hinder the turning radious if its too heavy.
1K/f - 7K/r ?????? that doesn't sound right no matter what RC you have. lol

what's the reasoning behind those weights? just curious is all.
Here's why...

Lighter diff oil in front allows the diff too "diff out " or spin the inside tire faster than the outside tire..( Yes this wastes alittle power) but id rather have that and a tighter turning radius... It also allows the diff to react to uneven or bumpy sections faster..

The heavier rear oil helps lock the rear tires together and kick the rear end around using the front as a pivot point. Kinda like when you hammer the gas in a 1:1 car and turn the wheel all the way to the left or right. The car will spin the tires and kick around fast.....

I really liked this set up i think i might try 2k in the front just see if it makes a differnce

This is a certain sponsered guys set-up *cough* MGT * cough*
Do they sell diff oil at the track?
sorry... Not sure
Wow that's a diff...erent setup lol....I ran 5f/3r in my savage and it wasn't too bad.
Rocco how far do you fill your diffs?
I usually fill till the oil is justt above the cross piss
cross piss?
LOL!!!! Sorry i meant the cross pins!!!
My 2nd set of FLM TVP's came in Friday so I decided its a good time to break my 2nd racer down and change the grease in the diffs to oil. That 7,000 wt oil sure is thick, I think its thicker than the grease I was using.
7k's not to bad
Look at 50K or 100K if you want thick!!
It seems like 50 or 100k would lock up the diff? It's got to be like playdough..

Anyway, the 1k made my front diff my looser, should help in the turns.
Generally reserved for center diff applications. I had used 50K in the center diff on my Mugen truggy to keep the front tires from unloading.
Rocco, so your setup favors a "powerslide" cornering style?

Revo runs 30k wt oil stock. I still need to try the 10k in the rear diff soon.
Jerry, you gonna come out and race anytime??
Its doesnt powerslide..... Its a very loose set up.. they only seem to "lock up" under heavy throttle in the apex of the corner
