Did you do that with your camera? I ask because that's the format my camera does videos in. I bought a converter.

Yes, that's why no audio. It's a Nikon CoolPix camera.

Hey guys, I was at the race today and snapped a few shots. My camera settings were screwed... no idea what I did.. but all the action shots came out very poor.
Ayway.. here's some more track shots, and some pits.

Those pics look fine. And judging by the looks of some of those electric pits I am going to go out on a limb and say that is more expensive to run than Nitro!!! WoW!

Brian, nice photos. The electric pit box with the built in stereo speakers..too cool!
03-05-2006, 09:42 PM
most of the pits are not as cool as that one. He even had flashing LED's around the thing.
A lot of the guys have 2 chargers, some dischargers, and just LOTS of battery packs.
It was nice and quiet, and easy to breath though. So that was a plus! Need to get some cross ventalation in that place on the week nights.
Something else interesting I noticed today. Most of us just carry our cars/trucks around, or if you are like me, toss them in a big sterlite box for easy stacking. A lot of these guys carry their cars around in the original box it came in. I'd bet I saw 10 boxes there at least.
I was also surprised by the amount of these cars going for the tripple.. It was a HUGE jump to try and make, and a lot just fell short. Going to be scary/fun with nitro! Just watch your head if you are a marshal there!

But how much do 2 nice chargers, a power supply, and "many" nice battery packs cost you?? A LOT! Add some nice mod motors, everything to rebuild them yourself, or a nice brushless system... it adds up faster than Nitro IMO...
03-05-2006, 09:57 PM
you might be right. When I run electric, I really neglect those motors. Pretty much just ran them till them imploded. mash:
But battery packs are not cheap for sure.

When I ran on-road I was amazed by the pit equipment of the those running electircs. Some looked like they had computer equipment in there to recycle their batts. Plus they solder/re-solder the connections each time they race. I'd say they were doing way more work between races than I was.

dammmm look at the car in the air near the left red guy....
serious hang time!!!

RCDad, they do solder stuff a lot. It looked like some of them didn't run plugs. They just soldered wires on when they wanted their car to be on.
03-06-2006, 09:33 AM
Yeah, serious racers don't use plugs at all. Those batts cost a lot of money also.
03-06-2006, 04:42 PM
im ready for the triple, i got all rpm arms on the front end of the revo now!

Yeah they looked like they did LOL. It also looked like they had chargers that peaked each individual cell.

I watch lawnmower racing on Speed Channel, it's hillarious.

I'm sorry, but if they aren't carrying blades, they're just really tall go-karts.
The site Bernie linked does have some great pics. There's even a MT mower, and some trophy girls...... no big air pics though. More of a flat track style.
