Ok guys the first CampMaxx is set for April 7-9th '06. It is located at the show-me-RC track outside of St.Louis MO. If you've never been, then I suggest you go, IT'S A BLAST. I'll be there, as I've been the last 3 years. It's a campout/race that starts on Friday night around 5pm (4-7-06) and ends Sunday around 4-5pm (4-9-06). The drive is about 4hrs each way.

If you've never raced before or are a beginner then this will be awesome practice for you. It's very laid back race yet still competative and great fun. The track is very fast and free flowing yet still has some technicality to it. Usually about 10-20 people show up although I'm hoping I can get at least 10-15 chitownrc members to come down with me this time. That will put about 20-30 people there total. Not a huge turnout just a great bunch of guys to hang and race with.

There is facilities located on the camp grounds, campfires will be burning throughout, tents will be set up "bring your own" (or some people sleep in their cars), and the overall setup is very nice. There are pit tables all over the place for anyones use, electricity on almost every major tree, it's just a really accomidating place. Very nice and relaxing.

The classes raced are 1/8 scale buggy, standard MT, UMT, and 1/10 gas truck. Any electrics (unless there is enough for a class of 4) will usually run with the 1/10 gas trucks.
We practice on Friday, Saturday is heats, and Sunday is mains. Practice can be done during any off time. Between our "mischeif" we usually even run in the middle of the night under the lights as it's in the country on private property.

Ok now for the Camp/Race fees. It's a VERY reasonable $20 for the entire weekend, that includes camping and racing. You bring your own food/drinks and anything else you need to campout. Fire wood is included with the entry fees.
Anything you may want to go get is about 15 mins away, grocery stores, walmart, fast food, beer, smokes...whatever, 15 mins away. I usually bring whatever I need in a cooler and just run up to the store Sat or Sun if needed.

We need to set up car pools and start ironing out details for all the people that want to go. If any of you have any questions please ask. To all the people that have went before, please include anything I may have forgotten as far as details and such.

I really want to see a good 10-15 people come enjoy this weekend with me and if you do I guarrantee you will be hooked and go again. It's that much fun. Anyone of any age is invited. This will be an experience you will not forget for a long time!

I'll start the list of people who want to go (only sign up if you ARE going):

1. Tex
you can add me to the list for now, and maybe my friend too, but we might not be able to, so far everything looks fine, but you know how it is, something may come up. Also I was wondering does he have to pay the $20 fee to when we only have my r/c? I am guessing he does, but not sure. I will be the only one racing.
YOU KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will be there!!! I have been down there twice, and each time has been great! Tex pretty much gave all the details. I went down there with never being on a track and never meeting everyone. They were all very enthusiastic about helping me. I would also like to see a 30 person turn out also. Jason(runs the event/ and showmerc.com) works very hard to give us a place to race/ goof around for a weekend.

I will offer up space to carpool for those of you that would need it. It is a very easy drive straight down I55 to I270 to I70. It's closer to 5 hours depending on your driving habits and how many pitstops you make.

I'm sure they could knock half of the fee off if he is not racing. Heck if he watered the track and marshalled alot they may knock off the whole fee.

PLEASE ONLY ADD YOUR NAME TO THE LIST IF YOU ARE GOING FOR SURE

This is so we can coordinate car pools and the amount of supplies to bring.
i should be able to go..i have nothing holding me back so i will add my name when i figure out for sure whats going on..
NICE!! I was told that I had to go a while back... Sounds like a great time so let me check with the 'rents and request it off from work. If I go there may be more with me... not sure. Maybe the VW can make it down their in less than 4 hours. Hehehe... I'll keep you guys posted...
let me know if you are going for sure when you find out Dan
is a hobby store close by?
I think I remember hearing it is about an hour away...
it's about 45mins away. Bring some spares if you think you'll break.

I didnt even see the event listed on showme? sweet on the advanced notice tho!
golf cart races????
I'm there! No car pooling for me though as I won't be able to leave until 8pm or later on friday because of work but I'm going to go for sure!
Yay john!!! yay drew!!! I don't think the track is big enough for golf carts but I will have my pocket bike with me!!!!
nice well is thier room to drive a golf cart??? my buddy has a calf cart that is jacked up with mini muders and custom paint..
im just jokein around. I dont want to wreck the track for all the races!
no golf carts on the track, it'll tear it up.

We need to start getting car pools together.

I will be leaving around 6pm Friday night, I can't take that day off work. ToughTrax was getting back to me if he was going to ride down with me or not. Otherwise I MAY have a seat open in my car (for someone who is RACING).
no i didnt mean for the track to cruise around the camp ground in..
the "CampGround" is approximately 150yds x 50yds. If you cruised from one side of the campgrounds to the other in a golf cart you would be there in about 4 seconds.
ohh i c..well then i will just walk aroudn then..lol..but im 100% positive ill be going.and ill most likly take my dads new truck so ill have the whole bed to put lugage in...
