My parents think that when I get my liscense I won't do anything with RCs and more, did you guys continue to bash/race?
I found having my liscnese has gotten me into rc more, I can drive to the post office to ship stuff now!
LOL
I got into R/C's after I got my license, so there is no option that applies to me Sad
Got into rc's after I started driving. No option up there for me either.

I would think you get into it more after you get a license. At that stage you no longer need rides! You can drive yourself to bash spots, hobby shops, etc. It's all downhill for you!!! Prepare to lighten your wallet, lol.
I do it more now, I can goto LH and stuff on my own to practice etc when my Dad doesnt want to drive out there
I think your parents have this confused with your bicycle. I never used my bike again after I got my license.

Mine has been used like twice in the last 10 years :o:
it encouraged me because i was able to travel to bashing spots and get parts from the hobby store with no problems. If anything it made me more addicted
lol, thats what i told them, but they are giving me a 95 yukon that gets like 12 miles to the gallon at the best, and i have to pay for my insurence so that is going to be a problem, but at least i will have a way to get to work now.
Sell the Pukon and get a small pickup or something that gets better milage. Then use all the spare cash to build your R/C collection.

For me, the ability to drive made it possible to travel to the races and forest preserves to bash. Made the addiction worse.

Actually, it was girls, graduating high school, partying, etc. that interfered with the hobby. The hobby took a dive once I was college. From there it was study, fraternity, girlfriend, graduation, job, wife, house, and finally.....over a decade later....back to R/Cs!
Didn't buy first RC until age cough*45*cough so I can't comment.

But I would guess by my kids, that RC will dwindle as school gets more serious, then you are off to college, then off to work, then married, then kids, then back into RC. And by then you will want what's current gear. So unload everything when you stop using it unless you think you will be collecting vintage RC when you are 30.
Dude... I got really into RC's after I got my liscense so no option for me. I proved them completely wrong though... they said when I got my car I wouldn't bike... so I bought a $500 bike rack and spent a few thousand more on my bikes and ride more now than ever... mehehehe
Poll does not work for me either---I got into it later
modded the poll for us old guys...
yay thanks, I can finally vote.

Yeah but the kewl part is if you added servos to the real car---drive it with a remote and no driver inside---

NOW THAT IS RC-ING!!!!
Just like they did on Mythbusters
well i stopped using rc's when radio active closed cause bashing just wasnt the same, so then i focused completely on flying planes and heli's and got really into that even excited to say i would be at the field everyday when i got my license but then my license came and slowly but surely my flying days have dwindled down but now im back to cars again.
i didnt get into r/c intill i got my licence soo..i dont know what to vote for..
The "I was already driving when i got into rc's" option.
opps didnt see that thanx
Lol! Smile
