Ya Think? You guys get all the cool stuff...... I'm jealous. Looks too nice to run. Keep it in the box.

Your gonna used the 9853 pipe??? Its a great pipe i use one on my EB modded bs21sb, but thats gonna be an insane low end tire spinning combo..... Congrats on the bad azz motor
02-07-2006, 05:02 PM
Yes... going to drop that 53 w/N528 into the LST.
Glad to hear you like yours! Jim at HotMods said if I was lookin for low end torque... score the 53.
Sounds like this is the right pipe for this rig then!
Thanks guys... I am pumped about this baby!
Ask a bit of advise?
Came with the 10mm / 8.5mm / 8mm carb inserts. Thinkin the 10mm would be the best for running in the engine. Max oil/fuel mixture. Sound bout right?

I clicked on your "my rig" link... Theres no pics of your "rig"
02-07-2006, 05:07 PM
Yeah... but I am asking for breakin/run in only?
After that I'll tune.. and try the 8.5.

The are all in sub folders...
02-07-2006, 05:09 PM
I would think you could break it in just fine with the 8.5......
02-07-2006, 05:09 PM
I see.... How long you been racing a lst?
02-08-2006, 12:21 PM
too much fuel during break in can cause excessive wear on the connecting rod.
I have a 528 and I use the 8mm insert, just richen your needles a bit. The biggest mine came with was a 9 or 9.5, I know it wasnt ten....

Have fun with that NitroLST that should be plenty of motor

Thanks guys... It should be a mad man! Not sure I'll ever see WOT again lol
Yeah I was surprised to see a 10mm insert... and that is the one they stuck into from the factory. Funny how they jumped down to a 8.5 then a 8.
Just switching over from 30% Whitelighting with a cold plug in a Collari .32 to 25% Byron's for the NR N528XR. Looks like it shipped with a T6L plug.
Anyone running this set up... can you give me your thoughts on plugs?
Thanks again,
Eric

NLST, since this is a learning place, how much does a modded motor and pipe like that run you?

Engine and pipe was just about five bills from A-Main

Thanks for the reality check....I won't be getting one anytime soon.....
02-08-2006, 05:27 PM
Dave...remember thats for the HotMod version...although the standard NR 528 isn't cheap either.

That is true... about a bill more than stock.
Hope that helps,

Hows break-in going???

rocco79 Wrote:Hows break-in going???
Steady.
The engine had to go thru a little mod... if you noticed the rotor start... that is not going to work for a Losi LST. Here is the mod that had to be done.
Before
After
Bought the LST II last Dec... and this is a "work in progress" Labor of love if you like. If click on my sig... you can browse "some" of the things I am doing to the stock truck.
The rig is coming along... and here is the next step in the evolution is installing the Team Orion CRF clutch... and that is not a drop in for the LST's clutchbell. (the ID is 27.4mm not standard)
Really don't think this project/engine will be run in till it's a little warmer. Plus I am still waiting on Mike to get me the finishing touch.. my shell
