Well I went to my metals class today and I now have a revo starter box. The good part... it cost me a grand total of $0.00 to get. My buddy had the 1/10 scale box and I am going to use one of those car jumpstart boxes to power it for now. I machined a block of aluminum and moved the whole motor and belt assembly up. I cut the slot bigger an it matches up perfectly...

Can I try? lmao....Nice craftsmanship hehehe....
I can let you use it... I will need a new belt soon as the teeth are a little worn. Other than that I got a little impatient and insteat of cutting the box with my dremel I used tin-snips. I need to clean it up as temporarily I just bashed in the sharp corners with a hammer. Works well though. Can't beat the price either...
Hehehe in metals I used tin snips today too....lol ours suck though they're not very sharp. 1 out of about 4 pairs of them will work well. Just dremel to clean it up and it'll be fine...Or even better line the edge with split fuel line....
Now I know what I can do with the bumpbox I bought. It's the same box! Big Grin

I'll check it out Saturday when you get the ramp.
Sure thing. I can probably machine the block for you too if you want. Heck I would even cut the top out nice and neat with my dremel. LoL. (Not my fast hack way of tin snips and hammer LoL)
I'll prolly just make something out of wood and plastic. You know, stuff laying around the garage. Seriously, if it's functional and you can easily fab out another one, I can see taking you up on it. Right now I still run the CheesyStart so it's non-urgent until we convert it.

Hey, did I mention RC costs a lot of money all the time! This is so Great!!!!! In case you couldn't tell, I was being sarcastic.
Yeah... dave I could get it done in a period or two at school for ZERO cost. It consisted of me cutting a pice of aluminum, milling it down to the right size, scribing out and drilling 4 holes, and then finding longer screws. That was it... After you see it you can let me know...
And now for dans next trick he will make a dynamite 1/10th starter box fit a savage!!!!!!!!!!! Let the challenge begin! j/k looks nice dan.
I can do it... it's called I machine a block of aluminum as you sell the savage and buy a Revo. :bustingup

If he figures that one out, He'll be a millionaire in under a week... Savage owners everywhere will buy that up.
Anyone have a savage I could investigate?? I like the sound of this millionaire deal. LoL I am still kind of surprised that the motor sits that high with no chance of ever using a starter box...
It's impossible dan!!! The flywheel is over a chassis plate so it is completely blocked off!!
I know... I edited my post so you guys didn't think I was completely retarded... Maybe if we turn it upside down... LoL
hey if you would you could make me one too plz i would greatly appreciate it.......
LoL... I may need to start charging. Hmmmmm.... I will need a box to make sure the size of the block is the same... (I do have a project I need to get done in class still so I will need to see how much tim my teacher will let me take up)
Can you machine me a starter box and a motor and a metal belt along with the block? lmao...Or hey, I'll make bigger boxes in my shop class outta sheet metal, we invest in motors and belts, you make the internal mounts, and we'll put RD outta buisness! Yeah! lmao...j/k...
If I have some spare time I may mock up and make a whole box, reinforce it all real nice and mount everything up perfect...

That would be cool to undersell RD though. LoL
lol..i see a lawsuit in the near future
If it is a different design they can't sue... other companies are allowed to sell their own revo specific boxes for whatever they please. LoL
lol...good luck
I wouldn't market them... I don't have full time use of a shop nor the resources to keep buying motors and belts. (Though now it is nice because I don't pay for the material I use as long as I use it.... in other words if I hack up $300 worth of metal for a go cart and never build a go cart then I would have to pay)
