That may soon change as I know someone looking into opening a LHS on the northside for all you Chicago folks!
Did anyone hear recently that John @ Hobbytown naperville had a heart attack?
I was there with jack when he found out. I guess the lady behind the counter said they are selling the place.

No...is he OK?
Hobby store close the the city would be cool. Tex tell me more...
A certain North side guy is looking into starting up a Hobby shop. Yes, it is one of the guys we hang out with....
Yes, tell more. Another Hobbytown on the Northside would be great, as long as they actually carried parts.

I usually goto the Hobbytown in the OakMill Mall, they dont even carry 5x10 bearings. They had to order then for me.
not sure if it's going to be a hobbytown or not, prolly not

Brokefreak, I have no more info other than what was already said here.
I plan on opening up a hobbyshop on the north side sometime next year. It won't be a Hobbytown USA franchise. I'm still looking at areas in the neighborhood, I did all the research on distributors, bank loans Chicago business license etc etc.... Now its just a matter of insurance for the wife and myself and picking out a really good location. I might venture out into the surronding suburbs (Norridge, Harwood Heights, Niles, Morton Groove) if I can find a spot close-by to build an out-door track. If not, it'll be right by the old Stanton Hobby shop.
Cool Snake Check your PM.

Morton Grove would be cool, lol. Make it nice and convenient for me.
Went out to Venture Hobbies today, thought I died and went to R?C heaven for a minute. Could have spent hours there but the wifey was waiting for me to get home.

They were flying an electro heli around the store as well. Was pretty cool.
