Just wondering if any of you know of good speed shops in the We-Go, St.C, or Aurora areas? I may start looking for a 3" silicone tube with an 90* or more bend in it to replace the stock inlet tube from my Cherokee's airbox to throttle body and the only ones I'm at all familiar with are Adrian's here in town, Sound Performance, and to some extent Pep Boys in Aurora.
You might check with GRD in Naperville, but they don't work on trucks very much. They might be able to refer you somewhere. Just ask for Irshad or Tuan.
I stock 3" ID silicone bulk hose at work in 3' lengths. We use it to connect the turbo and the charge air piping on diesel engines. I believe its expensive like $2.00 per inch only because its silicone.
try e and r in villa park or area 1 in franklin park..or speed ink in villa park
Is the stock tube bad? Or are you looking for HP gains?
If your not going to replace the stock air box, IMO you shouldnt even waste your time replacing just the tube, because you probably wouldnt even notice a difference.

Even something like a K&N cold air intake kit that replaces everything, only gives you like 10hp max, which is barely noticeable by the seat of your pants.

Now if you do a cold air kit and a cat-back exhaust, then you'll start feeling the gains of HP.

A place I know of and used to work at in N. Aurora is Custom Auto Sounds. They have or can get and do just about everything now from stereos to lift kits and wheels/tires.

I have been buying my aftermarket speed parts lately from...

GRD won't have much for your truck. I get my VW stuff from there and I think they only deal VW, Subaru, Audi, mitsubishi, and nissan.
ohh dan i forgot to tell u if u need and VW parts my buddy is parting out is GTI
The part I want to replace is just the tube from the airbox to TB, the factgory one is coregated and I want to try a smooth one to see if it makes a difference. I've already gotten a lower portion of the box at a U-Pull-It in Aurora and chopped out the entire front wall and put in a K&N long before that. There was already a slight difference compaired to before.
Honsetly the cheapest way will be to look for silicone hosing on ebay. I doubt for that size it will make much, if any difference though.

And Drew what is he parting out?? Is it tuned or are the stock parts?? Let me know... I need speed...
he has anything u want and he will work on it for u for cheap....u need interior anything u can buy it..he bought a camaro so now he is just parting out his GTI...ill call him and see what performance parts he has and ill let u know

THose full intakes off of ebay are the way to go. My buddy got his for his protege 5 for about $35 if I remember correctly. Fit great. I paid a LOT more for my intake but mainly because I loved the carbon fiber... Sone poeple would have, many wouldn't. Check out the bay for sure...
