talk to a lot of people. Dont just sit there and not talk to people or ask questions, be social and have fun
And bring any and all tires that you have that relate to the track, You might have 1 set that you think will work great but they might not work as well as another set you have. Right now I have bowties, responses, and lsp tires. The lsp's work well, and I haven't run the bowties or the responses on the track yet.
That's pretty much what I thought.

I have my set up covered ...tools, tires, spares, batteries and charger, etc. I run Spektrum, so that's not an issue. Do I need to bring a pit guy?
You should just to be safe....
Jerry.

There are many people that will help if needed, you know some of us, you just can always ask someone to help you. So dont feel that you have to bring someone we are all here to help each other out.
Cool, I just didn't want to assume someone would. I will probably just run a Revo (SMT?) I don't think I'll have enough time to get a truggy put together.
Hopefully I can get in some track time between now and then.
yes the revo is a SMT
And track time will only help a little, as the track layout is gonna be brand new on Friday the 21st I believe....
track time is gonna help a lot. You can never have to much track time. Wether the layout changes or not doesnt matter.
Yeah I guess so lol. Hey mich, how do the responses hook up for you at LH? In corners, accelerating etc.
to much traction with them
Crap...How do you think they'd do on the outdoor ex loose dirt...
like crap
Greeeaaattt...Glad I just bought some. Oh well.
use them indoors. they work awesome once you get used to them
get on topic......

I can't believe the race is here in two weeks, it came up fast. I'm ready! Smile

oh yeah and Jerry you don't need to bring a pit guy, I can help you for the day. (maybe you pit for me and I'll pit for you deal.)
is there going to be a class for newbies 1/8 scale?
Yep... F-Main. :-)
im seroius i want to join but im gonna suck so bad i dont want to be the worst out there
Every racer gets slotted into a main based on qualifying times. The top racers in each main bump up to the next class main, all the way to the Amain. So don't worry about being the worst (although $50 is a tough fee to find out you are), and have fun racing. Somebody has to qualify last. Anything can happen in a race. The best guys can break or stall, and the lowest guy can bump up. It happens!
Just come and race SHYCAGO. If you never start you'll never get better.
50 bucks for three full days of racing is a sweet deal IMO!!!!
Bernie, Thanks for all your help as always. Your vato, JT

You gotta start somewhere just like you would with a new job---at the bottom. You have to learn the ropes and skill and work your way up. Some of us are naturals while other have to work at it.
Times have changed. 12 years ago I was really good and came home with stuff all the time. Now I stink at it but I have made stride since the fall.

I looked at it like you did with racing.
Now I look at it like this......

I am racing no matter what I place. I don't worry about it. I pay attention to me out there and work on how to improve. I race myself and the clock.
I am having fun doing it and that there is no price that can be placed on.
I am there to get better at it and learn the skills.
I will be competative enough to give a run for the money in time.
I am learning my ride and how it acts.
I am making new friends and meeting new people.

As it was mentioned before---even the really good guys end up dropping out for whatever reason and it gives you the chance to bump up.
I would say most of this racing is 85% skill and the rest is luck. You rely on your ride and anything can go wrong at any moment unexpectedly.

You never know how good you are until you get out there. If you are as bad as you say you are---next year at this time lets see what you will say then with regular visits to the track.
You may be suprised you might catch on quicker than you think so don't cut yourself short on your abilities.

Just go out there and enjoy yourself and remeber that the fee is going to a good cause.
When on the track let the better drivers by, do what you can the best you can.
well ill be out there with my sp2 hey guys where is the list of people who have signed up i did yesterday but i want to know how many people there are?
