my first real r/c was a traxxas nitro 4-tec i got off of towshen for $200(overpriced pos) then i got my team losi xxx-nt(the chicago whore(tex and i think snakebite know) then came the savage k4.6 then the ofna 9.5 pro. 4-tec has gone to my bro, all the rest are here to stay, maybe!!!
Kyosho Big Brute-vintage 1990? Then a Bolink pan car followed by a Losi XXTR truck. Then 10 years off. Finally, Sept. 2004 this Revo.
My first real rc was an inbetween 1st and 2nd gen; It had the .15 motor, non widemaxx everything, but it had this really PIMP flamejob that I just had to have. I still have almost everything that was attached to it, except the f/r ends Big Grin
Anyone got the bulks/ arms/ diffs/skidplate/steering assembly/half-shafts they want to get rid of cheap? Seriously, I'd buy mabye.

(Is that an oxymoron?

"Seriously, I'd buy mabye.") :blah:

That's funny ...I was out of it for around 12yrs. and then the bug hit again w/ nitro!!
My 1st real RC was a Kyosho Ultima around 87-88. The one Joel Johnson drove in the worlds and won with. I had to have it. Costed me $149 bux new. I mowed lawns and did odd jobs around the house all summer to get it. I also got the Kyosho Pulsar 2ch radio and a Leisure 107 charger w/ some 1200 packs and the original Trinity Monster Stock motor.

After that, I got the TURBO Ultima. That was even cooler! I wish I still had it :/
kyosho outlaw raider
i had a nitro 4 tec as my first rc car but i broke it by going 60mph into a curb
This thread seems to be a little old, but my first car was an RC10T4. I got it ~1 year after it was released. Next came a RC10GT, but I still haven’t got around to getting an engine for it (that’s because I like to race electric). And my most recent car is a BJ4 WE (JConcepts electric buggy), which is the only car I have ever shattered an A-arm on (broke it into 3 pieces). The next car I plan to get is an RC8 (unless they change the layout before I get it, lol).
My first one was a Traxxas Bandit that I bought in November of '97, still have it too.
RC10L graphite when joel johnson was the first to hit over 70MPH

second was a USA 1 (kyosho)
My first was a POS from who knows where

1- 1983 - first "kit" was a Kyosho pegasus
2 - 1984 - AE rc10
3- 1984 - AyK Radiant 4wd
4- 1985/86 Kyosho Optima 4wd - mid engine fiberglass chassis
5- y2k - First nitro car - Ofna 9.5mbx

It was nice, mom was loaded, and i was a kid that went to school for a living, I had shizloads of batts, I used an airtronics xl2p and magnum junior radios, Novak Esc's, and all my race prep modified and stock motors were given to me free from Roy Weiss, the owner of the track / shop i was active at.....I did however have buy all of my Wimpy modified motors that I ran and they were the fastest in the day from what I can remember.

Bernie, do you remember Dan and Archie Burton? Were you involved with Peoria racing at some point and time? Dan says he knows / remembers you Smile
My first "real" RC car was an RC10 that I received for Chritmas back in '85. I messed around with that and a Kyosho Optima for awhile before shelving things for a good 15 years before coming back into the hobby with a Revo.
t-maxx
super nitro RS4 now decked out in mostly purple GPM parts, its my shelf queen with a freshly painted body Smile may have to use the .12 CV-R in there if i get serious about GT tho lol
1980 Tamiya F1 car, 380 motor. I didn't know that the radio was not included. I still have it built but never run
then came the 1981 Tamiya Super Champ, then Hornet, then Ultima (still have the Ultima) then the Stampede, Savage 25, Mini-t, Kyosho Twin force, TTR St-1, Blast boat, Rustler, Miss Bud boat....
