I hope they put it into production.
Ppppppppppssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssst.....
dude that is a sweet looking car!
It great to see the name back, but it will never be the orignal F-body. The should of never ended production of the Camaro or the Firebird/TA.
I think they got it right in the early 70's.....

mine is like this one:

when are they gonna start makin the trans am again, I wanna know how much time i have to save up, gonna have to do ALOT of painting LOL
I've got a 71 and I love it, but you have to admit, the fourth gens needed a make-over in the mechanical aspect. The trans and rear end were not enough to handle the power the LS1 series of engines are capable of making with only a few bolt ons. And the cars were just too damn heavy! Hopefully GM takes advantage of today's lighter materials and better engineering to produce a car less than 3400 lbs so it feels like one of the original F-Bodies instead of a truck with a lot of HP. They've got so many ways to make this right and make up for the GTO screw-up! GO GM!!!

I heard...and it makes sense...that the firebird will not be back, and the GTO will remain Pontiac's muscle and be moved to the new Camaro platform once it is released.
yeah, im not sure if they will bring back the firebird, my guess is not, we have a 83z28, its all original but its getting where it needs some matinence, the tranny is starting to leak, but just about every older cars tranny will leak from sitting, it needs paint, and the headliner needs to be stretched. ill get some pics next time i am by it, it gets stored in the winter
just thought i would post up a few pics of why the z28 becomes mine when im 18. Smile i cant wait lol

thanx, yeah demon dog Big Grin , actually that is the first red car we have had, but all of my dads tow trucks are red. and my moms old camaro that was a 77 was red, until it got sideswiped and total in the front of the house.
Cool, now get out there a put a second coat of wax on that Caddy. Big Grin
yeah, maybe i should start a thread of peoples 1:1 cars, and just see whats out there, except two of our other ones are in storage for the winter
thats a nie looking camaro cant wait to see one in person..
IMO i really hope chevy doesn't try to put that out! It is way overstylized, look at the mustang, charger, and challenger concepts. They are all very clean cars with alot of the same lines as the original cars. The new camaro is like the GTO they share nothing except for the pony car power. I think chevy had it right when they did a scetch of the concept car using the older body lines with new equipment. I.E. new motor, headlights etc. . . but just my opinion.
then again the new mustang barely resembles the 90's style, if u read on the camaro site they tried to style this off the 69 body style
Then they failed at it! I dislike all of the early 90's to now style mustangs and camaros, except for the brand new stangs. So i like the fact that it doesn't look anything like a 90's, and the chevy to me looks like an overstylized mitsu eclipse. Like i said these are my opinions, i won't buy that camaro but I'm positive that if they did build it the dealerships wouldn't be able to keep them in stock.
yeah, i dont really like ford but i do have to admit the new mustangs dont look half bad, but i think im going to head up to the chicago auto show, i hope they have one up there, i want to see one in person (the camaro)

How can you actually say that? Have you ever seen a 69 camaro? The entire side and rear of the car very closely resemble the 69. Even the glass is the same shape! Look at the rear side glass...identical! I'm not too crazy about the nose, but it does have the feel of the first gen camaros. If you think they failed at the first gen look and you see an eclipse, you are looking at the wrong picture...this thing just screams CLASSIC CAMARO - MODERN POWER!
i just noticed it has the LS2 vette engine small block with 400+ HP! All through a 6 Speed Manual trans
It still has the "muscle car" look, but i don't like the lines, they remind me to much of an eclipse! the rear yes does have the same lines but the front just seems weak. and the horsepower is def. muscle car!!!!
ya i can believe im saying this but i agree with you squirrel. Its not all that appealing to me and resembles nothing of the older camaro's. I think if i had to buy a new car it would definatly be the dodge challenger. Everytime I look at those pictures i just fall more and more in love with that car. This one just does nothing for me.
what r u smoking? that doesn't lok anything like an eclispe? do you even know what the first generation camaros look like? because if you do you would have to agree that it very closely resembles the first gen body style while using some body lines from the newer style caddilacs in the front ie the tapered front but i dont see eclispe anywhere.
The body lines running down the side of the car are placed exactly where they were on the 67 & 68 camaros. The rear quarter are identical to the 69's and even when they carried it over to the early second gens. The rear glass and deck lid are very closely modeled after the first gens, and the roofline and side glass look like they were cut off a first gen, chopped about 2 inches and put on this car. If anything, you may see shades of an early Camaro in an eclipse if you see similarities. Trust me, my friends and I all own enough early muscle that I see on a daily basis...including a 67 rs Camaro, a 68 rs camaro, and a 69 Z28 Camaro, and a 71 Camaro among them...that I can see that this car takes a LOT from those early machines and brings it back in a big way!
