Six , you just gave me an idea. I have an old old RS4 and I think that .28 RB needs a home. I think that 2mm chassis might not be up to the challenge .
that's why he had that thick 4mm brace up top.(the one he said he couldn't find after the crash) he had serious chassis flex issues if I remember correctly.
well the old nitro RS4's that are belt driven are great because there is very little flex in them around where the engine sits if you get the Al or graphite rear brace. Mine never had gear striping issues and if you bolt a good torque rod from the nose to the rear of the car it stiffens things up plenty. ohh and to run 1/10 truck foams on the back of the RS4 you need the NMT rear axles A549 or easier yet TM racing makes bolt on foams for TC's 30MM x 2.650" Tall. seriously put a wing on the back possibly even a small wing on the nose, aim the exhaust outlet up. aiming it down actually will push the car up into the air especially if you remove all the front drive components.

over on 159th...do they run a run what u brung format? street racing? classes? I'd like to go. Anyone run electrics? Could a brushless kick some ass?
I have seen some sick looking dragsters on ebay. Absolutely wicked looking and I bet haul your a$$ fast too. I bet you need a really straight, smooth surface to run on.
Bigdangerous , we try to run classes , and this time we are getting alot more serious about it , the way it should have been in the beginning (from when I started this year) 3 strikes and your out . bring what you got , get it running and KEEP it running or 3 times is unlucky for you .
Geno says try to pre register so he can put it on the board , like bracket racing . Judges do NOT RUN their cars til after event is done . There is more but its late and I wanna go to bed
ohh yeah.. the really fast nitro top fuel cars are silly. I believe in the 132ft they hit around 1.6 sec in the 75-80mph range. I just watched an auction end for a walbern pro stock car. over $500 for it RTR and the guy is in chicago. I wish I had $500 to blow because I would have bought it.

in fact there is video of some sick 1.6sec runs here..

well i was at al's tonite, and some guy don was there with dread's. He had an rs4 with some sick big block in it with a blueish mustang body. It looked cool to me, but i really dont wanna deal with nitro right now.
Love The Smell Of Nitro In The Morning Smile
electric drag kits are pretty cheap and with a BL it would fly. the fastest 132ft RC's go back and forth between BL's and nitros. both in the 1.6 sec time in the 80mph range.
so reading everyones post here....
is this drag race something like the nhra but with r/c's?

alot faster in doing it....
i just hope i dont do alot more damage them whats already there..
but it would be worth it.......
why is my smilly face at the top of my post?
i didnt want hime there, he's supposed to be at the bottom....

oh well....
The best bet to get to the Drags, is take 294 towards Indiana. After you pass the exit for 94/394, the next exit is Torrence. Get off and go north. It'll only be about a mile to 159th.

Bad news guys, I pulled this off the Big Squid Forum. It is in reference to the Oct 23rd races.

Quote:Sadly my next news post was going to cover the fact that this event has just been canceled. It turns out the parking lot we usually race in was just torn up, and they are not sure when it will be repaired.

We will keep you posted if there is a new location found, or if it is rescheduled.

As far as the classes go, anything goes. They have Truck, Big Block, Small block, and car Big Block, Small Block, and electric. Also (micro 1/18th scale) stuff. Odds are good whatever you bring will fit in a class.

small block is 'under .21' and big block is .21 and over. I believe for electric, it's all one class. Geno (the guy who runs the event) hangs out here, maybe he'll see your post if I didn't cover anything. Otherwise, stay tuned for more info, Geno will send me a email if there's a new location or date.

Thanks again for joining the forum!
Brian
I think their doing it down the parking lot a little by Kohl's or something now.
Tex is this for sure??? I need to know so I can plan on it. I could not log in at Big Squid and ask as it says my account is inactive? Sad
well that kind of bites........
