Howdy all, I just installed a O.S. .18tm on a Revo. I was wondering what the best brand of fuel and nitro % I should use. I mostly bash, but knowing me I'll probably start racing again as well. I couldn't find anything on the O.S. website which is why I'm asking this question here. Thanks. :wavey:
Odonnell 30%
Different people have had different experiences with all kinds of fuel. This question could easily be turned into another Revo vs Savage, or Chevy vs ford Type debate.

Try to stick with the quality fuels (Odonnels, Trinity, White Lightning, Maxy's, etc...) and I would recommend at least 30% Nitro. That's just my opinion, but the performance you gain with the higher Nitro is very noticable.
30% nitro is easier to tune, OD and Byrons have the most oil, and IMO are the best 2 out there
some advice, STAY AWAY FROM BLUE THUNDER!
Is Odonnell avaliable at Al's?

i ran about 4 tanks in my rusty, with the 2.5, and it got the motor at like almost 400 and then my dad was running it in his 2.5 maxx, and his got to 550 and blew the motor right there on the spot, i tried to tune mine after his blew i had it pretty rich and i got the temp down to about 320 which was still way too hot so i just sold the rest of the gallon to somone else, that ran blue thunder all the time and didnt have any problem with it, i went back to trinity monster horsepower and the temp went right back down and the performance jumped.
ohhhhhhhhh that not good. thanks for telling us now im sure noone will buy that stuff now. 550 degrees holy $h!t
yeah, lol, that was pretty hot, the piston was all black on top, it was totally gone
I got my ws7ii up to 450 the pressure line poped off, after my dad pinched it, the motor lasted another 8 gallons. now that is quality right there!

blue thunder blows, its the only fuel that i have seen with condensation inside of it if it sits for a long time.

Yes i get my OD from Al's all the time
Blue Thunder also has a problem with destroying One way bearings.
Thanks guys, O'Donnell's or Byrons 30% it is. Later - DaveB
You could also try trinity platinum 30%. That's what I used with my 18tm. Holds a tune good, temps are good, lots o power Smile.
Also, I'm having great results with White Lightning..
Blue Thunder is BAD. Stay with either Odonnels or Trinity 30%. They are available at almost all hobby shops.
+1 on the Trinity Platinum 30%
