Since it's been awhile I thought I'd show off Big Grin

The Savage is still my baby and on the way are FLM Extended Low COG TVP's and the center skid to match. Yesterday I ordered the Werks 4-Shoe Racing Clutch and Ofna Hardened CB. I've put the Nova heatsink and motor mount on as well as a few mods, Big Joe's and a Bronco body (which I totally screwed up the flame job on), Vertigo tank guard, etc. etc. several Franklin's to be sure...

I painted the wing black btw.

Looks good.
Is that a front mount battery I see? That's not a very safe spot on a savage Smile.
Don't start with the picking on the Savage.........it's not a good spot on anything!

wheelie ballast.
Not picking on it at all. No room to lay it sideways?
Go to twisted toys.net they make a plastic moulded case for a 5 cell hump pack right were you have your current pack
Very nice truck. Looks like it belongs in a magazine spread! I like the wing. How did you attach it?

I am also curious about the battery. I was able to fit my standard pack in the radio box. Is there not enough space in there?

Oh, and thanks for the update!

Naa, they don't make the case. The case is from an HPI Rush...Batt. Box....I think TT makes the mount for it, though.
I have a wing on my savy. I used a hot bodies wing mount and a few old brake calipers to make a backing plate and bolted it up though the shock tower. Its easy

That pack wount fit in the savage box.

RCdad... What engine you run?
He's packing a 4.6....
May I ask why it's not safe spot to mount the battery in front of the shock tower? I have mine this way... Would it be better of to get flat pack and mount it below the chassis? Wait, I think that would be even more unsafe, wouldn't it?

ok... 6 in one hand half a dozen in the other.... Atleast that puts him on the right track
Yeah, why is mounting the pack in front unsafe? I'm surprised, I used a HB rear shock tower to mount my wing as well. It's solid as hell, I had to drill two holes in the HB tower and two in the bottom of the Savage tower. It turned out real well.

Looks very nice indeed ! Nice winter project Big Grin
Glad to see you back...looking good!!! Is that a alum. tower mounted to the back of the factory tower?
thats what it looks like... huh, werid
When I started thinking about mounting the wing at first I was just going to mount it to some kind of plate and then mount the plate to the back of the Savage shock tower. Then I though, why not use the buggy shock tower.

If I had a dremel I'd of gotten rid of the shock mounts on the buggy shock tower, in the end I figured, what the hell, and just mounted the rear shocks to it. Not sure how that will effect the handling of the truck.

I plan to get some LST shocks in the near future, got enough on order for right now.

Anyway, next up is my truggy. It's a GS Racing SUT with an HB .26 engine. The wing and dirt bonez are about the only tweaks here. I've been basing this a lot this winter, the HB engine has a lot of power.

Ok, next up is a real shelf queen. This is a beautiful RC to look at but not much for taking out and having fun. I nearly *censored* when my brother in law jack knifed the trailer. It's sweet though, the detail is amazing! With the trailer it's about 4' long.

Introducing the Tamiya King Hauler.

Jeez that thing looks real, how much did that set you back?
nice truck for a savage. really looks good with the ford bronco body Smile
I traded a nice laptop for the Tamiya King Hauler, to be honest I'm not sure what I'll do with it. It sits on a shelf nearly 24/7/365 because it's just not much fun compared to a normal nitro basher.
They make a FULL lighting and sound kit for the King Hauler. Everything from user controlled headlights, brake lights, turn signals, The sound system has Deisel Engine sound, air brakes, the unmistakable Hitching sound when hooking up to the trailer, and even raises and lowers the dolly legs. In order to use the sound.light system, you have to use an 8 channel radio.

I'd go Mad Max with it and turn it into an attack truck....then you could bash with it!!!
One magazine took the King Hauler and did a complete mod, making it nitro. It was pretty sweet. It would take a few semoleons to accomplish that I imagine.

One big problem is its not a lexan body, it's hard plastic painted on the outside so you run iinto something and you've pretty much wrecked it.

It looks pretty sweet sitting on a shelf lol

I'll probably take it out on occasion and run it just for the kids.

Anyway, next we have something I got in a trade and really had no idea what I was going to do with. I finnaly decided to let the kids drive it, get them used to nitro, and if they smash it up who cares right? I painted this body for them outlining their hands, came out kind of cute I thought. It's pretty much bone stock except for some different pipe that I have no idea who makes it and it had the RRP steel spur/cb and the double slipper. It runs real good, the reverse works well and the kids love it. Working on a maxx feels like a toy after being around the Savage for so long;

Good idea on doing their hands. That paint looks good.
